The answer to that lies with you, and you. Make your decision a binding onej AFROTC NEWS The Highacras AFROTC unit, under the direction of Captain W. E. Carper, 1s in high-gear as it begins operations for the new academic year. Uniforms have been handed out, flights have been organized, and cadet officers for the year have been selected. Also, plans for cadet activities such as Drill Team, Rifle Team, and Military Ball have been formulated. The Drill Team, which consists of 20 men, is the "elite" of the corps, and will participate in the Mummer's Parade and the Armed-Forces Day Parade. The first Drill Team meeting will be held on October 4 at 0800 in front of the main building. Any Interested cadet may take part in the tryouts which are held on a strictly competitive basis. James Ditzler is the commanding officer of the Drill-Team. The Rifle Team is comprised of 12 to 16 men, and is concerned with fine handling of rifles and expert mark manship. Several meets will be held with other Rifle Teams throughout the year. Tryouts for the Rifle Team will probably be held sometime during the weak of October 3* HAZLETON CO^IEGIaN AFROTC NJWS (con't) Interested cadets should watch the bulletin board in South Hall for information regarding the exact time and place of this meeting. The full-dress Military Ball will probably be held sometime before Christmas. A cadet committee will be 1n charge of this affair. Definite arrangements as to the time and place of the ball are not yet available. Cadet officers were recently chosen for this year. Hardy and Col. Dolan. The Colonels sat in on classes and observed proceedings in general while they were here. INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS In the past few days there have been inquiries concerning a proposed Inter national Relations Club, a check with Mr. Peightal, who, together with Mr. Krecker, has cooperated in extending the advantages of a club of this type, confirms these reports.
