Membership in this group is valuable experience in promoting and staging performances, such as concerts, plays, and the like. Along with this is the College- Community Chorus. HAZLETON -X- "X* -X* ■>(- ~/c *X" -X COLLEGIAN -x- * # -X- -X- -X- -X COLLEGE* CO MUNI T Y CHORUS Miss Pearl Garbrick, assistant professor of music and director of the College-Community Chorus, stated that twenty-five people attended the season's first meeting of the College-Community Chorus which was held Tuesday at 7:30 P. M. in the Music Room of the Pennsylvania State University Center, Highacres. She also explained that the chorus is not exclusively a college function but rather a joint-school community activity in which anyone who likes to sing and who wishes to study the better literature of choral music can participate. Twenty-two of the total number of people who were present at the meeting were students from the Center, and three were people from Hazleton and surrounding communities. The group commenced work on its Christmas program and also decided to sing a few choruses from Handel's Messiah, Everyone is invited to join the chorus and is eligible for member ship. Those who wish to join and have not yet done so and those who need transportation should contact Miss Garbrick. xsbbbbbbbbbbbbs- Student directories are now available to all students.
