Rules and regulations are necessary for any well-ordered family or
community. In a well-ordered system everything has its time and place.,
Our educational system, both in class and out of class, has been organized
to help each student develop orderly and systematic habits. Toward that
end, definite places have been established to conduct classes and laboratories,
tt eat, and to put coats, books, brief cases and automobiles-,
"som@ students have developed into gopd uniyersity cjtizsns others
have nqt. Most students comprehend and observe these necessary principles
of cooperative living which have l)een developed by student, regulatory
committees. Such, students reveal a which is indicative of their
readiness to take their places in an adult world.
When regulations fall unfairly or unjustly upon certain students, appeal
t.a the appropriate student committee is always in order- When no appeal,
based on some valid exception, is lodged with the committee as in the case
of traffic violations, then the penalty should be paid within 24 bo-v+B hours
in the bookstore, These procedures are just as necessary in our university
community as in any ether adult cpmmunity.
We trust that your experience ias a university citizen will contribute
positively to yqur Development and stature as an adult.. At the same time,
WS anticipate that while working in the university community laboratory Qf
human relations, you will also learn to make positive contributions toward
itp. development and growths
Let us all work together toward leaving our university and our world ip
better conditi on than we found it, as did other generations of people before us.
The Hazleton Chapter. American Rod Cross is offering a 30 hour course
in Cater Safety Instruction at tho Hazleton Senior High School Swimming -pool
the weeks. of May 9 and May 16 from 7*66 to 10*00 ?,?■:> Monday thrpugk Friday.
The first week of instruction will bo a review pf Semi or Life Saying
and fateh Cafety skills and will be taught by a certified Red Cross Instructor,
The second week will bp an Instructor and Instructor Review Course and will
be t&ught py Daniel Donovan, Safety Service Representative frpjn the eastern
area Office of the American Rational Red Cross,
Any parson 18 years of age v/ho holds a current Senior Life Saying Certificate
with the Red Cross is eligible tq enroll.
There is no charge for the course. Registration will b', hold at the Chapter
House or phone Gladstone 4-6621 before May 9,
