February 11, 1955 Our library here: at Highacres is planned to service the students and faculty of the center. The library is opening all day for your convenience; but because full-time library workers are not available, the library must be a cooperative enterprise, depending upon the intelligent use of it by each student and faculty member. A few books are lost, strayed, or we hesitate to say it, stolen from the Highacres Library. At any rate, they are not on the shelves and no card is available to show who has them. If you have any of these missing books or know anything about them, please return them to the library, or notify Miss .Garbrick or one of the library aides. To help the library overcome this missing book problem in the future, here are a few rules we would like the library users to followj 1. Always sign the book card and have i t and the book stamped before taking the book from the library. Reference books are to be used only in the library. 2. Try to take out books only when library aides are on duty. A schedule of the hours the aides are on duty is at the end of this article and will be posted on the bulletin board in the library. 3. Always return books to the charge-out desk. A book in the wrong place on the shelves is lost. 4. Tf no one is available to stamp out a book, leave the signed book card on the charge-out desk. Check schedules and ring bell to be sure no one is there to help you. The library will be able to give everyone better service if these rules are followed and if everyone remembers that only co-operation makes the library's services possible. Library aides are on duty on the days and periods indicated* Monday - first, third, fourth and fifth periods, Tuesday - second, third, fourth and fifth periods. Wednesday - (same as Tuesday) Thursday - first five periods. Friday - third, fifth and sixth periods. The! library has received a number of new books which will be of interest to many of the students and faculty members. The list of new additions to the library is not available at this time, but will be published at a later date. HAZLETON COLLEGIAN attention Library users (ancTwe*hope that's everyone) Page 3
