Nittany Lions Tangle Panthers UNIVERSITY PARK, PA., February - “It’s very satisfying for a coach to have a team give a full effort.” That was Penn State wrestling coach Bill Roll’s reaction to his team’s 26-9 rout of Lehigh last week. “I’m not saying that everybody wrestled up to their full capabilities,” Koll notes, “but we had a good effort from everybody.” The good effort resulted in three pins, a couple of upsets and a 9 - 0 - 1 record going into the final dual meet of the season at Pitt on Saturday (February 27) . The Lions are undefeated in their last 24 dual meets. “Pitt will be tough,” Koll says. “They have had a number of injuries and other problems, but they have recruited a lot of talent in the last few years and they have some depth.” Pitt (8-2-1) has lost a number of its top wrestlers through in juries. In addition, three men withdrew from school and 142- pounder Mark Payne was dropped from the squad. “Before the season started, I thought this match was going to be the match of the year,” Panther coach Davey Adams said this week, “but Penn State’s tough matches are over now.” Koll isn’t ready to buy that. “This should be a tough mat ch,” the Lion coach counters. “There are some good match ups. They can make their season by beating us.” CLIP AND SAVE | LOW COST, SAFE, LEGAL j i ABORTION! j IN NEW YORK j | SCHEDULED IMMEDIATELY j (212)490-3600 (PROFESSIONAL SCHEDULING SERVICE.
