Peter, Paul and Mary are today the results of ten years of togetherness, taken in any sense of the word. From the resources of the rich delta of the Bitter End and on to international tours this trio has played before virtually every type of audience. They’ve sang many songs, to many heads, and preached many gospels. The message was originally the material of such traditional sources as Seeger, Travers, Lightfoot, Van Ronk and Dylan. Then the combined talents of Peter and Paul began working out original songs, with Mary adding her poetry. The liner notes from an album released back in 1962 describe the trio as, ‘“Two bearded prophets of the folk idiom in league with a bright, young blonde-and-a-half.’ And vocally as ‘An angel, and two cellos playing guitars.’” This was after they had been together nearly a year, and now nearly ten years later they are still hitting home with the word. When one thinks of Peter, Paid and Mary an almost immediate association with the Civil Rights Movement and the Peace Movement is made. ‘Ole Miss’ in ‘62, Washington in ‘63, all through the South, campuses across the a)untry, overseas, the Smothers Brothers show, everyplace and everywhere to everyone who would listen. By Gary Thornbloom Managing Editor Much of the best material Peter, Paul and Mary have ever done is on this album. Nevertheless this album contains many which are 'i .-itely among the best. ‘Biowin’ In the Wind,’ written by Dylan is done beautifully. It is perhaps one of the best songs ever released.
