Tennis Team Picks
Up One, Drop Two
Last week was a busy week for
the tennis team as they had three
dual meets. They won the first
one on Monday, beating Cuya
hoga 8-1. Firs man Kerry Lawson
beat Andy Barath 6-3, 5-7, 6-1.
Max Fleischauer played second
man position and defeated Jim
Pohorence 6-1, 4-6, 6-4. The only
point lost came from the doubles
team of Seiler and Bear who
dropped to Chabrand and Gist
1-6, 2-5.
Ashtabula defeated the Cubs 9-0
on Thursday and in their most re
cent meet which was last Satur
day, Lorain CC also shut out
Behrend 9-0. The results of that
Fleischaver 6-3, 6-0.

Law Son 6-4, 6-1.
Gary Dropko (L) defeated Max
Fleischaver 6-3, 6-1.
Jim Burgett (L) defeated Dan
Porath 6-0, 6-0.

Randy Cottrell (L) defeated

ns at the CAR SMASH.
Golfers Take
CC Tourney
The golf team at Behrend went
out of the season with flying
colors winning the Commonwealth
Campus Tournament at U. P.
Behrend tallied only 326 strokes
while Fayette came in second
with 342 and Capitol took third
with 344 strokes. Ji mCodread was
the only golfer in the tournament
who shot in the 70's as he was
the medalist with a 7.8 on a cold
damp day; certainly- not - the best
ay for golf.
Mike Adams shot 81, Pagliari
96, Faulhabes 85, and Levinsky
82. This is the third year in a
row the •Behrend golfers have
won the Commonwealth Campus
Tournament.
Jim Codrea also went to the
Region XIX Golf Tournament in
Baltimore, Md. where he finished
eleventh with scores of 86 and 79
for a total of 165 strokes.
Overall the team ended up with
a 6-5 record in dual matnhes.

Bailers Down A-K
In Doubleheader
Behrend's baseball squad ran
their record to Ll-4 by downing
Ashtabula Kent State 8-4 and 8-7,
last Tuesday, at Harborcreek.
It was Doug Zimmerman pick
ing up his third win of the year
against one loss, in the .opener.
Doug gave up one earned run on
five hits, while walking three in
going the route. Leading the hit
ting attack were Ed Deni with
two hits and one RBI, Bob John
son with two hits and Tim Nu
fher with a triple and three
RBl's.
In the nightcap, Bob Lackner
tallied his fourth win of the year,
this one in relief. Bob Johnson
started the Cubs but was relieved
by Lackner after 5 2/3 innings.
The Cubs were downed 7-4
going into the bottom- of the
seventh, but 'a triple with two outs
by Tim Nufher and a single by
Bab Johnson sent the game into
an extra inning.
