a story all by itself.
An entire classroom was liter
ally filled with the exotic, color
ful. paraphernalia abundant
proof that the national furor
over the pollution of the environ
ment has not escaped the college
student.
Some of the material was sad,
portraying a woeful state of af
fairs in the 'United States. Others
were bitter and scary.
Dr. Anderson and Dr. Wagner,
studying the exhibit, said that
they were most impressed by the
enthusiasm. of the students in
putting the project together.
The course, "Man and His En

impact of =man over the ages on

"The entire program is design
'ed- to emphasize the - quality of
man's life," says Edward J. Beck

junior in science and coordinator
for the weekend "teach-in."
"We'll talk about man's de
struction of beauty, architecture
and landscaping, the conserva
tion of - natural beauty, and the
economics and legal aspects of
beauty."
Saturday will involve -a day
long series of panel discussions an
the - different aspects of pollution
such as population, air, water,
solid waste disposal, transporta

water resources.
The program will close Satur

detergent or DDT effects are
discussed—but most of the lec

As far as the professors are
concerned, the projeCt made each
student mobilize his thinking on
environmental quality.
"The relevance and grasp of
subject matter proved to be as
tonishing," says the professors.
"We of course have not wanted
to leave these students with the
impression that all the answers
are in on pollution. We wanted
them to realize that there are
many solutions which their gen
eration will have to find.
"After seeing their projects
watching their films, skits, dances
and slides, even a videotape pre
pared by one of the broadcasting
majors—we are convinced that
their generation will find them."

Leaving the Moody Blues con
?ert of a week ago I felt what
can only be described as a tre
mendous "peace of mind" and I
couldn't help •but feel that I had
gained new friends. The concert
was a drag wading through the
unusually large number of solos
contained in the performances of
the John Mayan group and Ar
gent, but from the first note of
the Moodies set to the last note
of their encore there wasn't a
wasted moment.
Over an hour of one constant
rush of musical genius provided
by the best group I've ever seen.
Their performance topped that of
any other group I've ever heard
live including such greats as the
Airplane, Fish, Big Brother, Blood
Sweat & Tears, Hendrix when he
was at his peak, and even that of
_Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.
They were fantastic! BeCause
of their success with Tuesday
afternoon everyone has heard of
the Moody Blues, but there
doesn't seem to be any great
number of Moody Blues freaks
runnin' loose.
Could be because most of them
dwell upon "the threshhold of a
dream" and only touch the earth
to purchase a new Moody Blues
album or to attend their concerts.
Many think that because their
albums are such intricate master
pieces that they can't perform
their regular material well under
concert conditions.
Consider yourself - now enlight
ened. Their sound in no way suf-
