eVEII I I.IOILKIJ To those who wish to call this following explanation/pro— clamation a rationalization we a— pologize for the inability to con vince you of its sincerity° To those who accept it as it stands we offer thanks. There are many words used in today 9 s conversations that cause people to be taken aback. In this newspaper some of them are found. Sincerbly„ they have not been in cluded for sensationalism, have they been used in defiance of "the establishment" or the ad— ministration. The sole reason that these words appear is for the sake of good journalism. Most persons are not aware that there exists the A,B,C's of journalism. They are Accuracy, Brevity, and Clarity. Of the three, only brevity is flexible. There are occasions when it is necessary to sacrifice brevity and include details that are - not essential to an article but will DIE s'rROY Well kiddies, the sea son of fun is upon us! The Time of the year is again here when every young heart turns to that all-time fav orite pastime....vandalism. Have you done your part? Well, let's get with it! Get out there and rip down A sign, litter a hall, or knock over a chair. Release your inner tensions..... use your imagination! Stop and contemplate for a moment all the countless wonderful ways to wreak havoc upon our fair campus. Ignore those waste baskets! Put your time to better use; perhaps discovering a new and unusual arrangement for the quiet lounge. Have you how many strange and pre carious places one can bal ance a blackboard? How can the library miss just one more book or record? It's all merely a mat ter of using the time, en ergy and intelligence one is assumed to possess when accepted into College. Who are we to let good old PSU down? Get out there and destro lead to a different interpreta tionof it by the reader. This is rare. However, accuracy can never be sacrificed for any reason. This is not only to remain ideal istic, but is very necessary from legal standpoints which needn't be listed. Clarity, of course, is self-evident. Ido not claim that the CUB has followed these A,B,C's ef— fectively thusfar, But I do comMth my staff to the task of following the rules of good journalism from this issue forth. This is, then, a statement of policy change which will re— place all previous statements. A formal statement of policy, as well as a formal letter policy will be published in the first issue of the Nittany CUB of the fall 14'69 term of classes. ratIOD 8:00-9:50 a.m. 10:00-12:00 1;00 2050 porno 3:10-5:00 PoMe aomo 10°10-12: 1:00-2:50 p.m. 3:10-5:00 p.m. FINALS SCHEDULE MONDAY, JUNE 9 COURSE Como 862 EE. 814 EEC, 53 Chem. 11 Chem. 13 E. Those of you who may be shrewd enough to avoid venturing f . ,0 rt h in wet weather may know this mar vel by another namecoside walks. It took a clever mind to originate the idea of combining the two to work as one. Remember, next time as you are wading [or swimming as the case may be] to class, the original thinking that has evidently been growing along with our campus. It may just be efficient compensation.
