We at Behrend are quite curious to find
out how our campus compares to the other common
wealth campuses. At University Park, the dele
gates to the Organization of Student Government
Associations Conferences found out that we have
more territory, more extracurricular activities,
and a better atmosphere for studying - than other
campuses do. One campus, in fact, holds classes
underneath a rollerskating rink, and when thes , .!
other delegates heard about some of the advar..-
tages that we at Behrend had, they were quite
impressed--even though they didn't know where
Erie was.
Although we delegates did lay it on a
little thick about the "Behrend Hills Country
CIub"(B.H.C.C.) with its rolling hills, swim
ming pool, ski slope, bowling alleys, we had to
include the three eighteen-hole golf courses,
ballroom, and the brand new 25,000 seat field
house--the point remains that we have a lot to
be grateful for and a campus th t we can really
be proud of attending.
We et Behrend4a , ve muc concern alsZ9>re
garding how we stack up to the other colleges
in the area. We have been able to get a com
parison with at least one of the aforementioned-
Gannon -from Bob Valenti, a sophomore Engineering
ma:lor who transferred here from the "Peach
Street" school.
Bob told the Nittany Cub, "There is much
difference in the two schools, but the biggest
difference is that the people here are much
more friendly, much more outgoing than they
are at Gannon. Another thing is that there
is so much more to do: you can bowl, play
ping-pong, basketball, lift wieghts, swim in
season. Lest year all we ever did was play
cards all day. There's also a better chance
to participate in extracurricular activities
because of the smaller enrollment here."
Bob. an engineering major, says that the
studies here are harder, but that the teachers
are more friendly. "There always seemed to be
a kind of regimentation in the air down there;
whether there was in reality or not, I don't
know."
This is not meant to stir up any ill
feelings among our neighboring colleges, but it
should emphasize that the Behrend Hills Cou...
oops! I mean the Behrend Campus of Penn
State University is every bit as qualified, has
as much to offer extracurricularly (?)„ and is
probably a lot prettier than our neighbors.
So whenever any of us Behrendites (I make up
my own words as I go along) confronted
with a suggestion or blatant statement that
our campus is inferior to someplace else, we
can contend, armed with these little tidbits, •
that our country club is a great place to start
a college education.
DEAR ANNIE
Dear Annie,
So many sophomore boys are walking around
on crutches this week, as a result of the soph.
Frosh football game. Does this prove that the

Dear Peg,
The "better" they are, the harder

Dear Annie,
I am an upperclassman who is concerned
about the astonishing number of Freshmen
who go to Kelly's for lunch. What can be
done about this situation?
Dear Tammy,
If you can't beat em', join em'.
Dear Annie,
I'm really hung-up on a guy who doesn't
know I exist. How can I get him to ask me
to the Homecoming Dance before it's too
late.
Dear Frieda,

Dear Annie,
I think you are a fictitious character
that the Nittany Cub has invented as a
farce, and all of those stupid letter are
composed by the staff and their demented
sense of humors. What do you have to say
about that?
Dear Sam,
Touch me to see if I'm alive and I'll
slap youlll
Dear Annie,
Whenever I eat lunch with guys, they
gross me out really bad. What can Ido a
