WELCOME FROS WELCOME I' With the threat of customs week hang ing over your head and the confusion of orientation and registration behind you, let me take the opportunity to throw a friendly, "Hi, kids! Welcome to Behrend. Glad you're here!" in among all the other announcements floating around your brains. I know the thought of being in college, much less a member and student of Penn State, is a little awesome to some of you; but don't worry about a thing. You'll get over it. Fast! Also don't worry too much about initiation. Speeches to blades of THE NITTANY CUB ROSH ! ! : by Eileen Bowden grass, rowing to pine trees, anklets, bow ties, and dinks do terrific things to your prestige: not to mention your ego. And where else could you learn such fantastic trivia as the numl - er of gallons of water in the swimming pool, or how many bricks in the fireplace? I ask you: where? Being a freshman doesn't have to be a all that had though. The old axiom: "Life is what you make it" holds true at Behrend too. All you need is a little bit of the "Hello" spirit and a big dose of a sense of humor and everything will turn out in hearts and flowers. So chin up, kids, the best is yet to come. Its gonna be a great year, and we're.glad to have you aboard.
