Each year the S.G.A. gets a limited budged from University Park which they in tern use to apportion to clubs on campus. This is time constming, and demands that each organization shall submit a budget. Then some research is done to see of the budgets are fair, and that expenses are not padded. They each budget must be approved by the total S.G.A. S.G.A. recently ruled that each organization must sponsor some activ ity once each term, or risk suspen sion of its charter. Suspension makes the club ineligible for S.G.A. money. This ruling was an attempt to keep clubs active, - and to hope that there would be more activities on cam pus as a result. The activity can be merely a speaker, or a jemmy, or any thing. This is no hardship, because even a small organization like Radio Club could sponsor an hour in which they would have open house to explain their activity to other students. It is usually S.G.A. members work ing at the ticket desk before the foreign films. There is a committee now in S.G.A which is investigating future uses of Erie Hall. Next year all the recrea tional things will be in the new study and learning center. Erie Hall will then be revamied for some sort of student use. S.G.A. has investigated the work ings of the ski tow in back of the OB Building, and the tow is now in use. Anyone desiring to use it can see Mr. Yartz about it. S.G.A. sees that someone is there to exchange used books at the beginnings of each new term. This year the boat exchange was handled by the Keystone Honor Society. A committee now is working on scholarships and their possible sources of funds. Athletic scho larships in particular are the object of research, and the money will probably come from parking ticket money, under the regulation of S.G.A. S.G.A. has put in many hours in conference and discussion trying to see that the sbholarship program is well set up. In addition to these things, each S.G.A. member must work in Erie Ball for two or three periods a week, and attend the weekly S.G.A. meeting. Two secretaries and a Treasurer are kept very busy, and . the President, Vice-presidett and an insurance representative from S.G.A. are spending a lot of hours doing their best. Any suggestions? Came to an S.G.A. meeting and tell it. KEYSTONE HONOR SOCIETY The Keystone Society, consisting of Jeff Ddsend, Jan Puzar, and Carol De Arment, have worked many hours processing student records fo see who is eligible for the Society. These three must go through every student's record to see who hos a 2.5 grade point average or better. Then those who are most active in student activities will be selected. Keystone is not obligated to induct anyone, even though it has recently been under attack by those who would like to get in. The paper work is now being done in a long tedious process, that ironic ally falls on those who were selected because they are busy in other clubs. Inductions will take place soon.
