Whether or not students are al4ard of it, S.G.A. spends a lot of time each week doing things for the betterment of the campus. The S.G.A. minutes are 'posted each week by Jan Puzar on the bulletin hoard of the 0.8. Building, so that there is no excuse for ignorance as to what S.G.A. does. Meetings, as in all organizations, are a little dull for those who do not belong to the organization, but in S.G.A. they are open for the curious or school-spirited. So far very few have come. lest fall Raymond Broderick, who is now Pennsylvania's Lt. Governor, was invited to the campus for an informal meeting with Behrend students. S.G.A. sponsored this, furnished refreshments, made posters, and handled publicity in town. All University Day took a lot of planning on the part of S.G.A. For two entire days S.G.A. members worked in 'hifts to see that the money was col lected, and there was always someone in the 0.8. Building lounge to see that this was taken care of. S.G.A. made transportation and accomodation arrangements, and those familiar with Penn State's drastic overcrowdedness know how difficult it is to house 200 students for the weekend. In addi tion, S.G.A. committee made a large banner for the banner contest. It took a lot of time. S.G.A. repaired the pool equip ment, and since the guys in Erie hall have ruined the cues, they are being repaired again. S.G.A. attempted to keep the library open on weekends, but this was vetoed by the administration. The bulletin board in the cafe teria was procured and installed by S.G.A. TALLY The Behrend Campus Student Judi ciary is maintained by appointees of S.G.A. S.G.A. had to approve the constitu tion of the Boosters and the Choir, and any other organization that starts here. Repair of ping-pong tables is now underway. They will be repaired as soon as the best prices for material are fonnd New paddles will be purchased. A critique on Orientation Week was sponsored during common hour last term. This is S.G.A.'s attempt to see that Orientation Week is even more valuable to next year's freshmen. Several S.G.A. members were appoint ed to the cultural committee which meets each week with Mr. Mercorella, and they were responsible for the questionnaire on activities that was filled out during winter term registration.. The president's board meets each week to co-ordinate activities on campus, and to see that several events don't take place at the same time. They now are working on the Winter Weekend pro ject which will include all students and' organizations, and take-place February 11-13. The Faculty Evaluation which was circulated during registration was a form drawn up by S.G.A. They worked in shifts to see that students filled it out, and now they are spending an eno number of hours tallying it up for the benefit of the faculty. S.G.A. will sponsor a trivia match this winter. cont. page 6
