John Runnells, a senior line backer from Scotch Plains, N.j., has been awarded a $l,OOO BUM scholarship for postgraduate study at the University or graduate school of his choice. Vacation for these Runnells is one of 22 Col lege players honored for their scholastic achievement, 11 from the VCAA's university division and 11 from the college division. The awards were made through the NCAA Postrgraduate Scholarship Awards Committee, head ed by Lawrence C. Woodruff, dean of students at the University of Kan sas. A pre-law student majoring in busi ness logistics, Runnells has a career average of 3.48 and during the past football season registered a 3.33. Re has been named to the Deans list four times, including two fall terms when he was busy with football, and twice he com piled perfect 4.0 averages. He plans to enter ley school next September. A regular linebacker for three seasons, Rnnnells was named to the 1966 All-East second team, the All-Pennsylvania first team and r received All-America honorable men tion. Be was named to a first-team defensive berth on the 1965 Academic All-America team and is a likely rep eater on this year's team. Dubois Campus will be host to the Intercampus league Western Section Tburnament on Friday and Satmrday,, January 27-28, 1967. Altoona, Behrend, Dußois, and Shenango Valley campuses will be participating in the event which will include compet ition in bowling, chess, and table tennis. I.C.M.T.
