An excellent program will be held
during Common Hour on November 18 that
all are urged to a ttend. This will be
the first production of the year of the
Behrend Players who have been rehears
ing for over a month under the direc
tion of Mr. E. Grove and Bill Holmes.
The program, "Never Under-estimate
the Power of a Woman," will consist of
scenes from six plays and will be based
on the theme of woman's inhumanity to
man. Included will be scenes from
"Jim Dandy" by William Saroyan; "The
Secret Life of Walter Nltty" and "Mr.
Prebbles Gets Rid of His Wife" from
the" Thurber Carnival;" "The Village
Wooing" by George Bernard Shaw; "The
Taming of the Shrew" by William
Shakespeare; and "School Daze," an old
Fanny Brice radio script.
.ill hen-pecked men and hen-pecking
women are urged to attend this hilari
ous program. Those who simply enjoy
a good laugh will be welcome also.
Plans for a new dormitory to be
constructed at Behrend Campus were
submitted last week at University
Park to appropriate officials for
recommendations and approval. Brennan
a nd Brennan, Eric architechtural firm,
submitted the plans which, after
going thrbugh proer channels, should
receive final approval by the Board of
Trustees in January. Groundbreaking
for the new building, which will be
situated on the hill by the gravel
parking lot, is scheduled for late

Behrend Campus Erie, Pa.
The new dormitory will house 100 men
and 100 women. Space for aTV room,
project .rooms, and conference rooms
have been incorporated in the plans
for the two story structure, A large
lounge with a balcony overhead, from
which `Tiesleyville and Lake Erie will
be visible, will separate the two
wings of the building.
Plans for a dining area to servo
the dormitory students and a new
library and study and learning center
will be worked on this winter.
On November fifth five B ehrend
students journeyed to University Park
for the annual fall conferences of
P.A.C.C., and Keystone Soc
iety.
Representing Behrend for the O.S.G.A.
(Organization of Student Government
Associations) meetings were Tom O'Connor
and Bill Cook. Beth Kraschneske was
the delegate for Keystone Society.
Bill Barney was the representative of
the Nittany Cub at the P.A..C.C.
(Press Association of Commonwealth
Campuses) meetings. Dennis Conley,
who was elected corresponding secretary—
treasurer of P.A.C.C. last spring,
attended in this capacity.
The Behrend delegation along with
Mr. Friar and Dean Lane returned to
Erie Saturday evening. Behrend
will benefit in the near future from
the many ideas which the delegates
brought back with them.
