Behrend Readers Attend
Penn State Festival
On April 23, Nancy Avery,
Marcia Nelson, Sherrill Hofius,
Joe De Philip, and Gil Hoffman
under the tutelage of Mrs. Nyla
Falkenhagen traveled down to
University Park to participate in
the Sixteenth Pennsylvania Inter
collegiate Interpretative Reading
Festival presented by the Univer
sity Readers and the Speech De
partment of Penn State.
The Behrend Readers presented
a reading at the evening reading
hour on the 23rd. Their selection
was "The Green Machine" taken
from Ray Bradbury's novel Dan
delion Wine. This followed a
banquet at which the guest speak-
Dear Diary...
As I take my pen in hand, I take
my bottle of Coke in the other hand!
Yes, dear diary, where would I be
without Coca-Cola? Just a social outcast.
Why, everybody drinks Coke! John
and Bill and Barry and Charley.
Horace too. Confidentially, I think I'll
have another bottle of Coke.

The following morning the
Behrend Readers offered a selec

I were to say exactly what we
do, there would be no Ness Nite.
I can give you a clue: It starts
with "g" and rhymes with ram
bling."
Also included in the program is
a floor show. The performers are
none other than dear old Behrend
students who have a knack for
getting on stage and displaying
their talents. Again. may I inter
ject a comment. Anyone who is
interested in being in the floor
show is entirely welcome. Just
give your name and act to a
Circle K member and come to
Ness Nite.
The aforementioned subjects
are just a part of the evening's
enjoyment. There will be sur
prises and prizes. So, round up
your friends and enemies, bring
8.25 and make it out to Behrend
on May 8 at 8:00 p.m. for a real
enjoyable evening.
Now on to more serious mat
ters. As most of you know, Erie
Hall is a sad looking sight in the
afternoon. Can you imagine what
visitors to our campus think when
they walk in there and stumble
through the milk cartons, dis
carded lunch bags. etc? Circle K
is aware of this problem and we
hope to correct it within a week.
The Behrend Readers will re
peat their program May 14 during
Common Hour in Room 101 in the
Behrend Building.

Finally. I would like to make
a statement about Spring Week
end in general. Circle K is re

ever, the S.G.A. will be quite ac
tive on Saturday with a host of
scheduled events. Let's you and
I as students at Behrend really
make this a successful Spring
Weekend.

Behrend, or any other campus,
should consider himself at a dis

years of higher education.
