As the varsity (?) came into the gym there were wild screams and shouts o f encouragement such as, "Take 'ern apart, Tigers!" "Unscramble their brains, brawn!" and "Show 'em the way to the in firmary!" All in all it was a very peaceful crowd. Then as the fac ulty team came onto the floor, there was a hushed silence and much unwinding of bandages. The only sound was the drip, drip, drip of the emergency bottle of plasma held up by two on-duty interns. Dave Manning announced the game in his own laconic way, while Tom Larson and Hubble Dale were impartial referees. The coaches for the respective teams were: Greg Glassner urging the students on to victory and protest ing when Jim Ott, the time-keep er, kept stopping the clock; and Norm Patterson urging his group into the gym. Playing for the faculty were: Iry "flat-on-his-back" Kochel, Ernie "Stilts" Fryer, Will "Out run-4em" Mosso, Myron "Super man" Cherry, Dave "Don't let 'em-get-away" Howell, and Rog "Gouge-'em-in-the-ribs" Sweeting. Representing the student body were: Harvey "Tiger" Anderson, Gary "Loveable" Locke, Tom "Sweetie Pie" Hart, Tom "Flashy" Heck, Tom "Good Guy" Garris, Bob "Razzle Dazzle" Gilmore, and Tom "Blatz" Irish. There wasn't a considerable amount of action in the first quarter except when Iry Kochel tried for a basket while lying un der the wrong net. Ernie Fryer was whizzing them out of the gym and into the night faster than the basketball could be re placed. Arid Roger Sweeting man (Continued on Page 4)
