BEHREND CAMPUS —Pennsylvania State University
Behrend’s First-Annual Variety Show is slated for the vaudeville
boards of Erie Hall’s stage Saturday evening, April 18, at 8 o’clock.
General chairman for the program that will feature a wide variety
of acts and talents from both students and faculty is Edward Roberts
with Becky Schenck serving as assistant chairman.
Next Assembly Will
Feature "Mr. America"
“Mr. America,” George Eifer-
man, national AAU. title holder,
will be the assembly speaker dur-
ing the next common hour.
Mr. Eiferman, an American
athlete with a phenomenal repu-
tation as a weight lifter, is expect-
ed to demonstrate his widely re-
puted physique as well as tell why
he feels that young people should
keep in good physical condition.
A former “Mr. America,” Mr.
Eiferman has addressed over BYz
million students over 26 states. He
is also an accomplished trumpet
player. And it is his contention
that music can play an important
part in good health, especially in
the phases of rhythm, coordin
ation, and timing.
He is at present in charge of a
popular physical education vari
ety program that is supposed to
be interspersed with both music
and humor as well as the expected
flexing of muscles.

Those who participated in the Easter Play which was held last
Sunday afternoon under the direction of Nyla Falhenhagen,
speech instructor, were the following: (left to right) Charles
Blass, Dianne Reynolds, John Miller, Nancy Jo Altman and Dick
Chase.

Nielsen, ass’t.; Jutta Schewig, Jack
Raeder, and Vince Cresciman.
Refreshments are to be dissem
inated by Don Shelly, chairman;
Mike Maetz, Diane Baldwin, Jim
McDonald, and Charles Washny.
Ed Roberts, Becky Schenck, and
Walt Parker have asked that all
students pitch in and present
some sort of number for this first
Behrend variety program.
Many acts have already been
scheduled, among them a “wrig
gly” chorus line of shapely mem
bers as well as a duet to be sung
by Grace Rowland and Bill Cur
tis. They are to present “Seren
ade” from “The Student Prince”
by Romberg.
Bob Edwards will emcee the
entire show.
