Hi, kids! Here we are in a new
semester. Just think, no more
finals .until May! Speaking of
finals, it has been brought to my
attention that a few girls have
devised unusual study habits. Two
spent an entire night in the li
brary—now was Econ. 14 that
hard? Quite a few put their tame
into cram sessions, although there
are few reports as to the out
comes. Doris had a party during
exam week. Of course, no one
studied there.
During our brief vacation,. Sara
was hostess at an all-girl party.
Those in attendance were Jill,
Sandy, Jan, Judy, Tudy, Doris.
Sara, Beroie, Laz, and ‘Edie. For
further information as to the hap
penings there, ask any of the
above who won’t tell you a thing.
While on the subject of that
between-semester break, did you
enjoy it? Two of our coeds went
traveling: Bobbi went to Grove
City with her family, and Jill and
Jan journeyed to the Main Camp
us to visit friends. As for those
who stayed in town .. . there was
plenty of time for reading.
With classes starting again, new
developments are in the making.
Especially interesting will be the
gym classes at 2:20 on Monday.
It seems that, due to an error, this
will turn into a coed class. To
quote an old adage, “Lotsaluck.”
. . . Jan and Sara are busy with
the 1958 class schedule. (That’s a
very popular reference work.) . . .
Jill was hostess at a party, the
first of the semester. Although it
was a miserable night, about 30
Behrendites attended . . . The
Shooting from the fool line is Behrend’s top scorer, Mike
Nagel, while, teammate, . Bill Ames, carefully observes the
Lewis, pictured above left, and
Cuties
girls in P. E. 12 are having a fine
time stretching their hamstrings
and doing sit ups and shoulder
walks. (Who wants her hamstring
stretched, anyway?) . . . Lucille
is trying to figure out why she
isn’t losing any weight. Her tight
schedule doesn’t seem to give her
much time for lunch . . . Sandy
is sporting a new, unusually be
coming hairdo. One of our gayer
coeds and the best of our bowlers,
Janet Warren, has left us. We will
all miss her cheery personality
which always served to brighten
up a dull day.
The Behrend Center girls bas
ketball team is undefeated in two
starts, both against Alliance Col
lege. The first game, held Janu
ary 6 at Cambridge Springs, was
won 25-22, in a close skirmish.
.Lea Moses paced the winners with
12 points, followed by Sandy
David with seven. Scoring two
each were Janice Maclver, Ruth
Angelotti, and Edie Tinsman.
In the return engagement on
the Behrend hardwood, our coeds
were victorious, the final score
being Behrend 40, Alliance 34.
High scorer for the game was
Forst of Alliance, with 21 markers;
however, our Behrend girls scat
tered the points. Scoring were
Sandy David with 18, Lea Moses
with 13, Janice Mac Iver with
six and Edie Tinsman with two
points.
Making' up the Behrend team
are Edie Tinsman, Tudy Russell,
Janice Maclver, Janet Warren,
Lea Moses, Sandy David, Jill
Fritz, Sara Lewis, Evie Bernhard,
Kathy Shreve, and Carole Lazarus.

Up to now the intra-mural
sports program hasn’t had much
co-operation. Coach Goodwin is
going to start intra-mural teams
in basketball and bowling. The
people who are interested should
hand in their rosters to the Coach
as soon as possible. A basketball
team should not have more than
three varsity players. Bowling
teams should have at least two
girls.
Coach Goodwin is also trying to
get together a wrestling team, so
all personnel in wrestling should
contact the Coach. Gannon Col
lege has challenged Behrend to
a ping-pong match. The persons
who signed the notice posted for
ping-pong are Fred Faulk, Bob
Sokoloff, Walt Findley, and Jerry
Mitchell.
All the snow and cold weather
we’ve had this winter has given
the students an opportunity to do
a bit of tobogganing and skiing.
The campus is well supplied with
large hills which are ideal for
these sports. There are also many
places in the Erie area where one
can ice skate.
