Hosts NEAC
Championship
Penn State Harrisburg hosted the 2009-10 North
Eastern Athletic Conference Men's Basketball
Tournament. This three day event will start at 1:00
P.M. on Friday, February 26th when the hosting third
seeded Nittany Lions faceoff against rival sixth seed
Penn State Berks at the Capital Union Building.
In their regular season matchups, Penn State Harrisburg
defeated Penn State Berks, 92-73 on January 16th on the
road and again at home,
91-75 on February 17th.

placing first in steals, three
point field goal percentage
and turnover margin, as
well as placing second
in scoring offense, free
throw percentage, blocked

Nittany Lions Set School Record with
The Penn State Harrisburg men's basketball team grabbed
their school-record 15th victory Feb 20, at the Capital
Union Building in a 106-90 win over Keuka College.
Kenton Alston (Steelton, PA/Steelton-Highspire) led the
Nittany Lions in a season-high 60 point first half scoring
20 points on 9-of-16 shooting grabbing eight rebounds
and three steals. Steve Jones (Harrisburg, PA/Harrisburg)
complimented Alston tailing 11 points, five rebounds, five
assists and five steals in the opening half. As a team the
blue and white shot 58.5 percent from the field and 42.9
percent from beyond the arc en route to a 17 point lead at
intermission, 60-43.
Keuka was able to pull within seven with 9:06 remaining,
but the Nittany Lions offense proved to be too much scor
ing a season-high 106 points.
Jones came up one steal short of a triple-double finishing
with 27 points, 15 rebounds, nine steals and seven assists.
Alston finished with 22 points, 10 rebounds and four steals
in just 23 minutes of play. Jordan Gatchell (Manheim, PA/
Manheim Central) contributed 15 points, seven rebounds
and eight assists. Nick Liddell (Lewisberry, PA/Red Land)
and Brian Barry (Annville, PA/Annville-Cleona) added 13
and 12 points respectively.
Ryan Klimek led the Storm off the bench with 20 points
and six rebounds. Alex Coleman tailed 18 points, six re
bounds and two steals. Teddy Tuggles finished with 15
points, six assists and three steals. Plagued with foul trou
ble, Diamond Booker finished with 13 points and nine re
bounds in only 17 minutes of play.

Lady Lions Host
NEAC First
Round Game
The Penn State Harrisburg women's basketball hosted
a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) first round
playoff game against Penn State Abington on Feb 23 at
7:00 P.M. at the Capital Union Building.
Penn State Harrisburg finished their season with a 63-59
victory over College of Saint Elizabeth Sunday, February
21st improving to 10-15 on the year, while Penn State
Abington has lost six of their last seven games with their
latest lost coming against
SUNY Cobleskill Sunday
February 21st, 45-47, to fall to
5-19 overall.
The blue and white are
2-0 on the season against
Abington defeating the Lions
on December 11th, 49-46 and
again on January 27th, 68-43.
The winner of this game
traveled to Reading,
Pennsylvania to face off
against number one seeded
Keuka College Feb 26 at 8:00

Win 15
Second Half Run Rails the Nittany
The Fighting Tigers closed out an 85-76 win against
Penn State Harrisburg Sunday February 14th on a 42-16
run after trailing as much as 19 with 17:50 remaining in
the second half.
Kenton Alston (Steelton, PA/Steelton-Higbspire) and
Jordan Gatchell (Manheim, PA/Manheim Central) led
the Nittany Lions to a 47-35 lead at halftime, scoring 12
points each combing on 11-of-18 shooting. Brian Ongeri
(Hershey, PA/Hershey) contributed 11 points before inter
mission with the blue and white only allowing 13-of-34
shooting from the Fighting Tigers.
In the second half it would be all SUNY Cobleskill with
the 8-14 Tigers only allowing 29 points, the second lowest
on the season for the Nittay Lions, going on a 42-16 run
to give the blue and white their third straight lost on the
week.
Gatchell notched in a career-high 20 points to lead the
Nittany Lions on 8-of-14 shooting. Alston finished with
16 points, six rebounds and four blocks. Ongeri ended the
game with 13 points, five rebounds and four assists. Steve
Jones (Harrisburg, PA/Harrisburg) and Shane Woodman
(Mount Joy, PA/Donegal) both finished with 12 points
each.
Andrei Lucas led the Tigers with 19 points adding eight
rebounds, four assists, two blocks and two steals. Damn
Franklin, Damion Longmore and Marcus Medley each
scored 14 points with Longmore and Medley collecting a
double-double of 10 and 11 rebounds respectively.

17-0 Run Deflates Lady
A 17-0 run to open up the second half proved to be enough
for the visiting Lions of Penn State Berks (13-9) in a 67-
46 win over Penn State Harrisburg (8-14). Feb 17 at the
Capital Union Building.
In the first half the Lady Lions controlled the tempo,
leading by seven with 6:17 remaining. Penn State Berks
would bounce back with a 13-6 run to end the half tying
the game at 25 apiece.
The second half featured a heavy dose of Berks offense,
with the Lions going on a 17-0 run in the first seven
minutes of play with Harrisburg shooting 0-for-9 in that
span. The blue and white would pull within eight with 7:48
remaining, but Berks would close out the game on a 19-6
run to ensure the victory.
Dorothea Dixon (Middletown, PA/Middletown) led the
blue and white with 16 points, seven rebounds and four
steals. Amaris Gardner (Virginia Beach, VA/Bayside)
notched a season-high 14 points, seven rebounds and three
steals. Stephanie Yetter (Thompsontown, PA/East Juniata),
Nicola Zangari (Etters, PA/Red Land) and Brittany Adams
(Dillsburg, PA/Northern) each reached double digits
rebounds in the losing effort.
Following a career-high 35 point performance versus
College of St. Elizabeth, Courtney Bailey (Harrisburg, PA/
Harrisburg) answers with a double-double performance of
28 points, 20 rebounds adding four steals. Steph Binder
tailed 17 points, eight rebounds and three steals. Jasmine
Harris-Zane contributed 11 points.
