Old School is a movie about three middle-aged guys attempting to relive their college
glory days. The opening scene sees Mitch (Luke Wilson) catching 0 hisgi rlfriend in a -
tp
way gang bang. Distraught, he moves into a house on the outskirts of his old college
©Dg (3 Ea campus. His best friend Beanie (Vince Vaughn), a family man who started his own
speaker store, organizes an off-campus fraternity in Mitch's honor. Chaos ensues, com
plete with a raging party, some innovative hazing, and jello
wrestling.
Wilson and Vaughn give solid performances, but Will Ferrell steals
the show. He plays a newly wed named Frank, who eventually reverts back to his college alter-ego of "Frank the Tank."
After bonging an inconceivable amount of beers, Frank becomes an all-out party animal, who is only sober on sporadic
occasions.
This movie is worth seeing. Ferrell could be the funniest man alive and this movie proves it. Several scenes evoke
tear-jerking laughter, especially when Frank shoots himself in the neck with a tranquilizer gun. Unsurprisingly, there is no
plot of any merit, and the movie could have used more party scenes. But in the end, Old School is a movie worth seeing.

The title of this album is a bold claim. It certainly begs the listener to test its worth. I
wonder if labels like Sony Classical or other music marketers cringed in terror at the
thought of a CD that would make the purchase of all others unnecessary?
This is a CD intended for those "marginal" fans of classical music, i.e. those who
know the tunes but may not know the artists or the compositions' names. It also contains
tunes that most people have heard. Mozart's bright and airy "Eine Kleine Nachtmusik"
and Beethoven's sth symphony are two very recognizable melodies. Pachelbel's soothing
"Canon in D" is a favorite at weddings and was also sampled in Vitamin C's hit
"Graduation (Friends Forever)."
Another sampled tune is Rachmaninoff's 2nd piano concerto. This is a lesser
known fact but this serves as the backdrop melody for Eric Carmen's "All by Myself",
later covered by Celine Dion (credit to PSH music professor Dr. Robert C. Lau for point
ing this out in class). Everyone knows Rossini's lively "William Tell Overture" as the
theme from "The Lone Ranger." And certainly any fan of Looney Tunes has heard
Richard Wagner's majestic "Ride of the Valkyries", or should I say "Kill da Wabbit!"
This CD features the talents of the Boston Symphony, Philadelphia, and New
York Philharmonic Orchestras, among others, including the Boston Pops. These are some
of the best in the business, and their performance on this album proves it.
I can see this being the "only classical CD" I'll ever need. But after listening to
it, it wasn't the only one I'd ever want. This was the first classical CD I ever bought, and
now my collection contains more than 20. I was raving so much about this CD that come
Christmas and birthday time people were buying me more classical CD's. I have also
purchased many others, all because I listened to "The Only Classical CD You'll Ever
Need." I highly recommend this album.
