U.S. Nationalism
Dr. Ken Kyle will be holding a Colloquium on Thursday, Feb. 27, 2003 from 4:45 to 6 p.m. in
the Gallery Lounge. The title of the colloquium is "U.S. Nationalism and the Axis of Evil: U.S
Policy and Rhetoric on North Korea."
Psychology Colloquium
The Psychology program will hold its next colloquium for the Spring semester on Thursday,
Feb. 20 at 12:30 p.m. in Room 302 Library. Dr. Laura Ferrer-Wreder will present a talk on "The
Harrisburg Safe Schools/Healthy Students Initiative: The Transitions' Project." Refreshments
will be provided after the colloquium. Everyone is welcome.

Adult Education in a Multicultural Context Spring Lecture Series
Cultural Song
Dr. Felicia Brown-Haywood, Director of Student Support Services and Intercultural Affairs, will
speak on "Music, Culture, and Adult Learning: Cultural Song as Spiritual Formation" at noon,
Thursday, Feb. 20, at the Penn State Downtown Center. The lecture will explore the role sacred
music has played in the African American community in the formation of faith. Free and open to
the public.

obel Prize Winner
Douglas Osheroff from Stanford University, the co-recipient of the 1996 Nobel. Prize in Physics,
will speak on "The Nature of Discovery in Physics" from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 5 in the
Olmsted Auditorium. A reception will follow. The event is supported by the Student Activity Fee,
Math Integration Club and is organized by the College Math Department.
Women in Pennsylvania Politics
Why are there so few! women in the Pennsylvania legislature? What difference does it make?
State Representative Katherine Mandarino will be speaking on women in Pennsylvania politics
Wednesday, Feb. 26, at 8:30 a.m. in the Oliver LaGrone Cultural Arts Center.
Circle K International
Circle K is an international service organization on the collegiate level (key club in high school
and Kiwanis Club in the community would be its equivalent). The club has just been restarted on
the Harrisburg campus. With regional and nation! al conventions, activities include service proj
ects to the school and community as well as helping fellow chapters in our District. For more
