Jacob Shwartz earned a Ph.D. in com
munications from Illinois State University
but now works as an astrologer and tarot
card reader. He explained there are 78
tarot cards divided into 22 major arcana
and 26 minor arcana.
Arcana describes a special
ized knowledge.
Shwartz says "Every
card tells a story that
inspires the universe. I do
not shuffle the cards. The
person being read does.
This is why the order of the
cards is no accident. This is
a story that the person
needs to know."
Rebecca, an environmental engineer
ing major, had her tarot cards read for the
first time. She said many of the cards
described relationships and the point
where she is in her life. Some of the things
were personal and made sense, but others
seemed way off. "I also had my palm read
and was surprised it was so dead-on! He
read a line in my hand and knew every
thing I got in life, I had gotten on my own.
I was like, where do you see that?"

tures of his students when he taught art at
Thomas Edkins Cultural Art Center in
Philadelphia. "I'm definitely not a natural.
It just took years of practicing." On top of
subcontracting these events, White also
does advertising for four magazines.
Andrea Gorasi, a PSH psychology
major, couldn't believe the way White
captured her comedic
expressions in cartoon
form. "I always wanted to
get a caricature of myself
on the Boardwalk, but it
was always fifty bucks!

The Winter Sun/Fun
Celebration attracted so
many students, some liter
ally had to be turned away after 2 p.m.
The fantastic turnout raised the possibility
that the group will be contracted for the
Rites of Spring/Earth Day festivities.
The SGA will be hosting several
upcoming open forums. Joe Werner, vice
president of SGA and a public policy
major, said there will be a Leadership
Workshop held on February 10. The work
shop will offer an etiquette lunch. "This
will be a great chance for those students
interested in becoming involved in the
growing e-commerce world."
