The Reactor Ratings Key Horrible * I’ve Heard Worse ** Borrow or Steal It, Don’t Buy It *** I Would Probably Buy It **** Stupendous ***** Reviewed By: Dirty Sanchez. AriisifGrowp:TA aritera “ Album Title: Reinventing the Steel Label: Electra Release Date: March 2000 Genre: Thrash/Metal Overall Rating: *** This is Pantera’s 6th album, and to tell you the truth its no dif ferent than albums number one, two, three, four and five. It’s fast, it’s heavy and it’s quite obvious that after ten years of albums they still don’t give a sh*t. They still flaunt the half empty Jack Daniels and beer bot tles in their art work and encour age middle fingers and sucker punches. For some fans I guess consistency is good but as for me, I wouldn’t mind seeing a lit tle progression. How can you be that bitter??? You’ve got 6 albums out!!!! Each song sounds like the pre vious so if you like one song I guess you’ll like them all. I give this a borrow or steal rating and come to think of it I did steal this album, then I gave it to some dude. For Fans Of: All the previous Pantera albums; I can’t tell one from the other. In the style of their first album, their second being a little disappointing, this album is strong from start to finish with a total of 14 songs including a cover of the classic ‘Bos hit “99 Red Balloons.” Goldfinger continue their tra dition of incorporating metal, ska, odd changes and other oddi ties to keep each song interesting and unique. Dub Artist/Group: Drag-On Album Title : Opposite of H2O Label: Ruff Ryder Release Date: February 15, 2000 Genre: Rap Rating: ***** This one is a close to classic compact disc, that is why I rec ommend you buy it. Once again Drag-On’s lyrics are unbeliev able and Swizz Beatz has out done himself with the beats he created for this album. An extra added feature are the guest appearances by DMX, Eve and Jadakiss. This is a must buy as well as a keeper. For Fans Of: DMX, Eve, The Lox Reviewed By: Dr. Peter Venkman Artist/Group: No Doubt Album Title: Return of Saturn Label: Interscope Release Date: April 11, 2000 Genre: Pop/Rock Overall Rating: ** The only reason I didn’t give the album a horrible rating is because I really like two songs on it. One, “New,” was released a year ago! Couldn’t they write some new material? The other good song is the current single “Ex-girlfriend.” “Six Feet Under” is a track that could grow on you and definitely be a radio hit, but that’s about it for this album. Too bad they only had the magic once! Overall, I expected more from No Doubt and was not satisfied at all with what I thought they could do.
