In an interview with SGA President Roderick Lee, who majors in Marketing and Information Systems, he dis cussed the type of memorial and the availability of funds for Hemer’s memorial. The Michael Hemer memorial will consist of a tree funded by Penn State Professional Engineers and Contractors (PSPEC) and an engraved stone. The type of tree to be planted in ‘ Scott Neidigh Information Systems Hemer’s memory has not been determined. The decision will be based on a number of factors. One factor is the overall landscaping plan of the campus. Another factor is the weather. Trees need appropriate weather conditions to root suc cessfully. Therefore, the date for the memorial service will be determined by the optimum planting season. A fundraiser will raise money to purchase the dedication plaque and stone. “I would like to see all students get involved with the memorial.” Lee said. A fundrais er will allow contributions by the whole student body. Volunteers will be in the lobby from Monday, Nov. 15 through Thursday, Nov. 18 collecting donations for the memorial. Volunteers are needed to help with the collections. If you are interested, stop by the SGA office and see Roderick Lee.
