Your Horoscope
Libra (September. 24- October
23): In days to come, playing
the diplomat will be the best
course of action for you to take.
You don’t need to choose sides,
just play mediator. It is better
not to get involved, especially if
the patties involved in the duel
are family members. In this
instance, it is better to ride the
fence.
Scorpio (October 24- November
22): if you are feeling a little
compulsive lately fight the urge.
You need to think things through
before making a decision. Rash
actions will only cause harm to
you and could hurt others.
Exercising caution is something
you do not do often, but should
to avoid sticky situations.
Sagittarius (November 23-
December 21): When people say
look on the bright side, you have
no problems doing so. Your
good outlook on life is conta
gious. Spread your sunshine to
others who need it right now.
Your optimism will help to make
an unpleasant situation a little
brighter.
Capricorn (December 22-
January 20): Patience is certain
ly one of your virtues. Being
patient in a trying situation is
very advantageous. People will
look at you in a different light
because of your ability to stay
cool under pressure. Your level
headed approach will encourage
others to include you in their
activities.
Playoffs commence Monday,
Oct. 4 at 9 p.m. Every team
makes the playoffs. The playoff
schedule looks like this:
Oct. 4: 9 p.m.
XGl’s (5) vs. NQTY (4)
(Game 1).
Oct. 4: 10 p.m.
Pipelayers (3) vs. Deez (2)
(Game 2).
Oct. 5: 9 p.m.
XGl’s (5) or NQTY (4) vs.
Lollipop Gang (1)

Aquarius (January 21- February
19): The excitement in your life
has helped you to focus on what
is important, to you. Try and
remain patient and avoid having
unrealistic expectations.
Through hard'Work, determina
tion, and some heart and soul
you should be able to see your
dream through.
Pisces (February 20- March 20):
Don’t wait too long to apologize
for something you might have
done to upset a friend. You will
only create hard feelings and
lose a friendship. Say you’re
sorry, even if you don’t think
that you have done anything
wrong; for how many times have
you been needlessly angry at
someone and they offered their
apologies?
Aries (March 21- April 20): You
are an adventurous type- do
something new to liven up
things. You have had your nose
to the grind at work. You need to
have a little fun though. All
work and no play makes for a
pretty boring existence. So
loosen up and do something out
of the ordinary, something for
you.
Taurus (April 21- May 21): Your
love life has been a roller coaster
ride lately. A big high followed
by an even bigger let down.
Have faith and keep your options
open. You are bound to find what
you are looking for when you
least expect it. Just be yourself.
(Game 3)
Oct. 6: 9 p.m.
Winner of Game 2 vs. Winner
of Game 3
(Championship Game).
The Penn State Harrisburg
League Champions will play the
Penn State Schuylkill League
Champions at Penn State
Harrisburg on Thursday, Oct. 14
at 8 p.m. for the Capital College
Intramural Softball Champion
ship.
Gemini (May 22- June 21):
Keep the faith. Things haven’t
been going well for you lately be
it love/friendship, family or
work/school sector. It is hard to
believe that things will get better
when you don’t see how they
ever could but they will. Try to
be;positive and remember!that
what comes around goes
around!!
Cancer (June 22- July 22): You
are a truly great friend to have.
If you helped someone out lately
and feel as though you need a
shoulder to cry on- don’t be
afraid to ask. You certainly have
lent a shoulder numerous times
to others. In friendship, you get
what you give, so you should
have an abundance of friends.
Leo (July 23- August 22): Love
is rough. You know all about
that first hand. Relationships are
difficult to maintain without the
stress of other lovers being
involved. Face it, come out the
victor in a love triangle. Even
though it may hurt to sever the
ties , go and lick your wounds.
You will be much better off this
way.
Virgo (August 23- September
23): Life has been treating you
well. You have managed to bal
ance all aspects of your life,
which is unusual for you. If
you feel you need to add some
thing to your life, now is the
time. You are good at juggling
many balls at once and right
now you may find another ball
to catch is just what you need.
Trent Reznor Serves Up
Cocktail of Emotion
Just when you thought rock
was dead, Trent Reznor (Nine
Inch Nails) returns after a five
year hiatus to stir up the music
industry again with The Fragile.
Reznor’s last release The
Downward Spiral (1994)
shocked the music industry and
was declared as the pinnacle of
what angry music was as well as
what Reznor could do. Oh how
the critics were wrong!
The Fragile sits as Reznor’s
return to music as it shells out 23
tracks in all on 2 CD’s. Reznor
mixes complete songs with
instrumentals so that each disc
flows as one complete unit, cross
fading one song into another as if
The Fragile were a musical
score, perhaps to Reznor’s life.
. As usual Trent Reznor wrote,
performed, and produced, almost
the entire album. For me, this
hails just as good, and perhaps in
some ways even better .than his
last album.
And yes I know that is a strong
thing to say since The Downward
Spiral was declared as one of the
best albums of the 90s as well as
of the past 25 years.
But Reznor has a gift for being
able to blend passion and anger
into music that rages blistering
guitar riffs with pounding dram
beats alongside warm piano
melodies.
The album feels as if it begins
right where The Downward Spiral
left off, though the first disc weighs
heavier than the second disc.
This cocktail of madness, sad
ness and happiness opens up with
“Somewhat Damaged.” The first
20 seconds are a classic Nine Inch
Nails sound, which lets you know
that Reznor isn’t leaving his
roots, only maturing them.
Reznor is in full effect as he
vents his anger through the lyrics
“broken braised forgotten sore/
too f**ked up to care anymore/
poisoned to my rotten core/too
f**ked up to care anymore.”
If anyone is wondering
whether or not Reznor still sings
about his anger towards God,
then listen to either “The
Wretched” or ‘The Great Below”.
Reznor is know for his descrip
tive and explicit lyrics, and in
“The Wretched” Reznor sheds his
soul with “the clouds will part
and the sky cracks open/and God
himself will reach down his
f**king arm through/just to push

you down/just to hold you
down.”
This atheistic song fades pas
sionately into the album’s first
single “We’re In This Together
Now” which showers feedback
and shredding guitar chords and
Reznor’s classic screaming
vocals.
Surprisingly though, this song
doesn’t reflect hate or anger, but
love. The lyrics suggest .com
mittment and feelings about a
relationship as Trent sings proud
ly “you and 1 me/we’re in this
together now/none of them can
stop us now/we will make it
through somehow/you and
me/even after everything/ you’re
the queen ahd I’m the king/noth
ing else means anything.”
Another key track on the first
disc is “The Fragile” which was
the song Reznor and company
performed at the 1999 MTV
Video Music Award's.
The catchy chorus “I won’t let
you fa}l apart” coincides with the
opening words.“she shines in a
world full of,ugliness/she matters
when everything is meaningless.”
The second disc does boast
some great songs as well, but
they don’t measure up to the
power of the first one. Don’t get
me wrong, they’re not horrible,
it’s just that the second disc does
n’t have the same feel, but for
some that could be a good thing.
Some of the songs take a
while to get into and that’s what
brings them down. The highlight
on disc two is the track
“Starf**kers, inc.” which again
displays Reznor’s anger towards
God and his disbelief.
All in all “The Fragile” is in
no way a let down. For die hard
Reznor fans two full discs is just
what they needed after a five year
break, but for other fans they might
find it overwhelming. So much so
that you might end up only listen
ing to just one of the discs or allow
some great tracks to fade away
because there are so many.
If you love what Reznor has
done before, then pick up The
Fragile, but if you are not sure
about spending money on a dou
ble album, then wait for some
other singles to be released. It’ll
probably be a really long time till
something else from Reznor is
released, so don’t feel rushed.
Two albums worth of material
can allow a lot of radio singles.
