The Capital Times Campus-wide award winners announced by Matthew McKeown Penn State Harrisburg honored 60 students at the annual Student Awards Convocation ceremony on April 18. The ceremonies were held in the Capital Union Building. Provost and Dean John G. Bruhn presided over the service. The following students were honored by their respective schools: School of Behavioral Sciences and Educa tion: Kappa Delta Pi Excellence in Education Award: Nancy Laßee Plummer and Diane C. Herber. This award is given to two senior education students with high academic achievement, a record of service to the cam pus or community and the potential for posi tive contributions in the field of education. Outstanding Graduate Student in Teaching and Curriculum Program: Kenneth M. Peterson. This award is given to a student who is graduating during the current school year. The criteria for the award include grade point average, in-class performance as judged by the faculty, and professionalism. Outstanding Graduate Student in Health Education: Jane Miller. Outstanding Behavioral Sciences Student: Janice Groff. The Behavioral Sciences Pro gram gives this award to a senior Behavioral Sciences student with high academic achieve ment, participation in faculty research activi ties or special projects, and demonstrated leadership in campus organization or in the community. Outstanding Psychology Student: Kimberly A. Edmondson. Outstanding Graduate Student in Psycltol ogy: Cynthia Freeman. The Award for Distinguished Service in Community Psychology: William M. Stoner. Outstanding Student in the Principal's Cer tification Program: Sherri L. Smith. Business Administration: American Marketing Association Outstand ing Achievement Award: Marcus C. Ritchey. Institute of Management Accountants Out standing Student Award: Lynne M. Voth. This award is given to a senior accounting major who maintained academic excellence while also participating in extracurricular activities. Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants Senior Award: Jonathon W. Stahl. This is a plaque given in recognition of academic achievement to a senior in Pro fessional Accounting. 1998-1999 CMA/CFM Scholarship: Deborah S. Pringer. The Wall Street Journal Achievement Award: Meghan K. Jasam. This is given in recognition of academic excellence to an undergraduate business student. The award is a oneyear subscription to the Wall Street Journal and a paperweight. Humanities: Academic Achievement Award: Mary E. Creative Achievement Award: Carol Chromicky. Best Student Essay Award: Mary E. Long. Joel Sater Award in American Studies for Creative Achievement: Michael J. Strong.
