On September 5, 1997, the college community will
again have the opportunity to show Penn State
Harrisburg cares by participating in the 1997 Day of
Caring.
Volunteers are already signing up for the fun
event which will be conducted on Friday, Sept. 5.
Last year, PSH "workers" were assigned to the
Hidden Valley Boy Scout Camp and the Central
Pennsylvania Food Bank. Many of those volunteers
have enthusiastically returned to the member agencies
to further show their commitment.
Volunteers in the program get an opportunity to
perform a "hands-on" job for the agencies while
gaining insight into the needs of the community.
To volunteer for the Day of Caring, contact Judy
Shank at 948-6272.

Daka will continue to con
tribute to the Penn State Harrisburg
community by participating in pro
grams that promote diversity on
campus, he said. The International
Affairs president also plans on
returning to Cairo for a student
United Nations conference in the
fall.
His level of involvement in
campus and university issues is
credited to his advisor, Dr. Gilpin,
he said.
"If it wasn't for Dr. Gilpin, I
would have never receive the
award. He, more than any other
person, has contributed to my acad
