Conflict Examinations occur when (a) two or more final examinations are scheduled at the same time, or (b) three or more examinations are scheduled on the same day. Students having unresolved Conflict Examinations must file a Conflect "Examination Requet Form in the Registrar's Office by Wednesday, November 29,1989. Final examinations fulfill two important academic objectives; student integration of instructional material and end-of-semester evaluation of student achievement. However, valid means other than the final examination also accomplish these objectives(e.g., term paper, final project report, take-home examination, etc.). Course instructors determine which of these methods is most appropriate. In addition, course instructors are expected to: instruction 2. Schedule no examinations during the last week of classes. (Quizes and narrowly limited tests may be given.) I:3opm 3. Schedule final examinatons during the established fmal examination period. 4. When a final examination is not required, require the submission of an alternative means no earlier than the first day of final examination period.
