Page 8, March 30, 1989, Capital Times WPSH broadcasts from dorm By Josette M. Kloker WPSH, the voice of Capital College, held its first live remote at the lounge in Wrisberg Hall on February 14- Valentine's Day. In commemoration of this special day, WPSH played dedications that listeners had requested. According to Judy Hricak, general manager of WPSH, the dedication hour was so popular that it had to be extended into the second hour. The dedication hour was not the only way listeners could participate in the remote; the WPSH staff also challenged listeners' memories with a variety of trivia questions. Compact discs, albums, and huggies were among the prizes awarded for correct answers. Lynn Jesuit, secretary of WPSH, said the students really enjoyed the questions and were actually asking for more. Jesuit said the remote may have been less successful, if not for the efforts of the Residents Student Council (RSC). Not only did they co-sponsor the event and sell pretzels in the lounge, they also knocked on students' doors at Wrisberg and Church Halls to inform them about the remote. Both Hricak and Jesuit said the remote was a success. They said it helped to create awareness that the radio station can transmit its signal to the halls, as well as provide students with an idea of the large selection of music WPSH has available. Throughout the remote, Hricak and her staff constantly announced their need for more disc jockeys. She said by the end of the remote their request was answered with the recruitment of four new students to the WPSH staff. Hricak said she would like to have a few more remotes before the end of the semester. 4th Anniversary Sale Cassette Tapes $3.98 - $6.98 Compact Discs $9.98 - $11.98 Children's Books $1.49 - $3.98 Special Sale Books $1.98 - $6.98 Discount on ether Selected Clothing & Gifts See the New Penn State Tenn StateGßookstor: on campu OWNS/AND OPERATED BY THE PENNSYLVANIA STATE UNIVERS' • r 8 Mon Ours 8 430 Fri.
