SGA Profile Farina wants input from student body By Josette M. Kloker Student Government Association (SGA) is the liaison between the administration and the students, according to Judy Farina, secretary of SGA. Farina, who returned to academia after more than 20 years, is also editor of the campus's literary magazine, Tarnhelm. "For me, it is important to be involved with the arts," said Farina. She will graduate with a degree in Humanities in December and then plans to continue her studies in graduate school. SGA needs to be aware of any changes the students feel are necessary to improve the quality of life at Penn State Harrisburg, but they have not had much success evoking a response. "Lack of communication is always what causes problems," said Farina. "We want to hear what they (the students) have to say." To make themselves more visible and accessible, Farina said SGA has begun a talk show on WPSH Thursday evenings between 4 and 6 p.m. Each show features a different SGA member who first gives information about his role in the association and then answers questions from callers. "'WPSH is trying to help us (SGA) make students realize their responsibility to make their views known. They can do this by attending the weekly meetings or organizing a petition," said Farina. In between her various school responsibilities, she enjoys running, playing tennis, water skiing and hiking. Farina suggests that anyone who is interested in the weekly meetings should either listen to the agenda on WPSH or read the copy posted by the mailboxes in room 216. Ultimately, she would like to see more students attend the meetings on Tuesdays at 12:30 p.m. in room W 139. ATTENTION ALL SENIORS • Congratulations! There are only nine weeks left until graduation.
