SUBOG Plans Bizzy Buzz Reviewed Weekend By Leah Sendi Brenda Marchegiani, president of 5.U.8.0.G., is hoping to get the students to participate and for others to come to Penn State at Harrisburg for the Autumn Buzz weekend. Activities for the Autumn Buzz are geared at the student body. Autumn Buzz is the weekend of Oct. 20 to Oct. 22. On Oct. 20 Danny McCarthy will perform at 12:15 p.m. in either the Sculpture Garden or the B.C.A.C. McCarthy sings songs from Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, The Beatles, and more, plus his own country-blue songs. Dave Wopat will be performing Oct. 20 at 7:30 p.m. in the C.U.B. Wopat does his musical programming on his computers. Between the hours of 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. the Capital Iron will have a bench a-thon in the CUB. Saturday, Oct. 22, there will be an alumni homecoming hosting at 11:30 a.m., an alumni tailgate picnic, and 2:00 p.m. an alumni vs. the students sporting game. At 7:00 p.m. on Oct. 22, Randy Levin, who ranked third in the region in the comedian showcase competition in N.Y., will perform in the CUB. He does stand-up, improv, and audience participation. The Queen Bee band from State College will perform in Peoples Park, Mead Heights, at 9:00 p.m. They are a blues rock band. Also on Oct. 22 a carnival is tentatively scheduled between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. outside of the C.U.B. The student organizations which have expressed a willingness to participate are the Capitolite, X.G.1., the photo club, WPSH, and the College Republicans. Typing Term Papers and Resumes. There will be surveys to find out if the students are in favor of the new policy. C.C.S.G. is trying to get the grading system changed again to having plusses but no minuses. There was a meeting Oct.l at University Park to talk with representatives from all the universities. This topic was scheduled for discussion. The meetings are held every five weeks. In other S.G.A. action: * The R.A.s want to have on-going movie nights every other Friday in the auditorium starting Oct. 21 with "A Nightmare on Elm Street." They need funds and they must go through the finance committee. * The graduate students will be having a social Oct. 24 from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. S.G.A. will be providing some of the cost. * The banner that was displayed at University Park by two representatives from this campus, Toni Mandronico and Michelle Noecker, was apparently stolen from Beaver Stadium. * Dr. Ruth Leventhal, provost and dean, brought up the idea of scouting for food project to take place Nov. 12 through 19. It will include six colleges from the area, including the boy scouts, to collect food for the needy and to give the college publicity. S.G.A. supported the food drive project.
