RSC Improves Campus Living By Denise Reinas Resident Student Council is made up of elected representatives from each floor of Church and Wrisberg Halls. Its primary function is to improve the quality of residence living and to im prove the facilities and services that are available to all of the residents in the dorms. This year, fourteen represen tatives were elected. Elections were then held for the offices of president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer. Brian Humble, advisor of RSC, said, "I was very interested in revitalizing and re-es tablishing the importance of RSC. And judging from the inital meetings, I'm very pleased with the members and their en thusiasm." The RSC members represent the student population in the dorms. They take complaints and try to improve them, CAPITAL BAJA COMMITTEE TO SPONSOR MINI-BAJA RENT-A-RIDE your chance to drive it. The Capital Baja Committee is renting rides in the Mini-Baja on Friday, October 23, as a part of Autumn Buzz weekend activities. The charge is $1 per lap, so come and ride all day. We are also looking for competition drivers, so come out and post a fast lap. Proceeds benefit vehicle preparation for the 1988 cotn petition in Montreal. INTERNSHIPS IN PENNSYLVANIA STATE GOVERMENT FOR JUNIORS $567.75 Bi-Weekly Applications are being accepted now for Juniors majoring in Computer Science or Accounting for the States' Computer Systems or Accounting Intern programs. In addition to a competitive salary averaging over $7.50 per hour, interns may be able to receive college credit for participating and be able to return to a full-time management level job after the completion of the internship and graduation. Debbie Everett, vice president of RSC, said, "I would like to see RSC reach its full potential for successful fund raising and establish a harmony between students of all back grounds." Ms. Everett also stated that she would like to see RSC add new dimensions to dormitory life. RSC also tries to promote a : sense of community; it tries to enhance the social aspects of residence living. Melissa Wohrle, president of RSC, stated, "I would like RSC to become very active this year so that the students will enjoy living here and so they will obtain a memorable experience. After all, college is not exclusively books and tests—it's also a social learning expe- rience." You've seen it. You've heard about it.
