This year's 30 participants raised approximately $l5OO. The purpose of the annual run is to raise money for the overall improvement of sports on campus. Clarence Hardaway, a maintenance man here on cam pus, was this year's top moneymaker, running 27 laps for over $4OO. Athletic Director Bud Smitley was second in proceeds, making $3OO for his 36 laps. Good participation from the girls volleyball team, men's basketball team, and cross coun try team, helped make the Jogathon the success it was. "Our goal for next year is $3000," said Smitley, who sees SELF SERVICE STORAGE OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK CORNER MILROY AND GRAYSON ROADS AT CHAMBERS HILL LIGHT 321 MILROY ROAD HARRISBURG, PA 17111 566-6012 IF NO ANSWER, PHONE 236-7283 Low Prices Burglar Alarms STORE FURNITURE - CAR-MOTORCYCLE-BOXES-- ANYTHING! "The twilight baseball team and the rugby team from the area use our facilities here and next year those teams will be responsi ble fOr paying a $5OO rent for that use," Smitley said, adding: "If they choose to raise the money in the Jogathon, we should have 100 runners instead of 15." If Smitley gets the increase in proceeds and runners he hopes for in next year's Jogathon, athletes may receive jackets in stead of plaques for their par ticipation in varsity athletics here on campus. "I appreciate everything that was done to make this year's Jogathon a success," Smitley said. "The help from the community was magnificent, from the people running to those who pledged." 4 ).
