"Chapter Two" unfolds tonight

It’s no secret tht Neil Simon
is one of the greatest comic
playwrights of all time. One of
his best works, “Chapter Two,”
will be presented tonight in the
Student Center, at 8:00 pm, by
the Alpha Omega Players. The
presentation is free and open to
the public.

closely resembles Simon’s
own life.

When his wife, Joan, died, he
married actress Marsha Mason
soon after. It is on this ex
perience that he based
“Chapter Two.”
The sweet widower, George
Schneider, portrayed by Judd
Hirsh (Alex, of “Taxi” fame) in
the opening show on October 7,
1977, will be seen tonight
through the acting talents of H.
Stuart Rutter, a graduate of the
University of Oklahoma. A
member of the Alpha Omega
Players, Stuart is an experienc
ed performer, whose credits in
clude “Barefoot in the Park,”
“Romeo and Juliet,” and
“Gypsy.”
Kim Setzer, a native of North
Carolina, puts her thespian
talents to the test as she
assumes the role of Jennie
Malone, George’s second wife,
in “Chapter Two.” A graduate
of Berea College in Kentucky,
has considerable theatre ex
perience as well, having por
trayed Helena “A Midsummer
Night’s Dream,” and Celimene
in “The Misanthrope.”
In a recent critique of Neil
Simon’s work, Edythe
McGovern states her feelings
about “Chapter Two.”
