served for a year, and was
namedpresident of UTD, the
upper division campus.

University of Texas System,
Jordan also served as president
of the Association of Upper
Level Colleges and Universities
and on various committees of
the American Association of
State Colleges and Univer
sities.
Because he comes from a
very successful academic
career, we asked him if at 59 he
sees himself being a caretaker
of Penn State until his retire.

Law Schol Admission Test (LSAT) is scheduled for Dec. 4;
and, the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) will be ad
ministered on Dec. 11.
For the LSAT, the late registration deadline is Nov. 5-11; and,
for the GRE late registration is from Nov. 6-11.
For many students, the Dec. examinations may be the last
realistic examination for September 1983 admissions.
The "Lion's Tale" will be carrying further information on
"test dates to remember" and Counseling center program dates
on a regular basis.
Thanks to the efforts of Pi Sigma Chi, the children at Hershey
Medical Center had a deliciously ghoulish Halloween this year.
Members of the fraternity received monetary contributions
from faculty, staff and students to purchase the goodies for the
children's treats.
Jim Dickson, President of Pi Sigma . Chi, feels that "this was
an important event because fraternity members reached
beyond the bounds of Capitol Campus into the community.
Everyone who participated were rewarded by helping others.
Tenth term psychology major Dave Balser has been appointed
and approved by the Student Government Association as Chief
Justice of the Student Court. The appointment was made at last
Monday's SGA meeting, according to Kim Guzzi, secretary.
In this position, Balser will be replacing Sharon Jacoby, who
will be graduating this term.
Yvonne Harhigh and Sarah Hoover, both members of the Penn
State/Capitol Campus Women's Volleyball Team, were named to
the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, District 19,
Women's Volleyball Team.
Other District 19 representatives are Theresa Reed, Sharon
Snyder, Joanne Fjaden, and Cindy Turney, all members of the
Wilmington College (Delaware) squad.
Wilmington College, by virtue of their victory over Capitol Cam
pus, will represent District 19 in area competition, November 12
and 13, hosted by South Carolina University at Spartanburg.
Donna Kirker, Managing Editor of the '`Lion's Tale" has an
nounced that the weekly publication will be distributed on Mon
days as opposed to its previous Friday delivery.
Deadline for the weekly publication will be Wednesday prior to
distribution. This Wednesday will be the final day to submit
materials for the November 15 "Lion's Tale." Copy is to be sub
mitted in the Capitol Times mailbox in room W-110 or in the
publications office, W-129.
"The 'Tale' is designed to bring information to the campus
about the next week's happenings as well as briefly covering last
week's activities," said Kirker.
