Register Now for Winter "Directions Workshops"
Study Effectiveness Training and Stress Reduction
Both Study Effectiveness Training and Stress Reduction Workshops will be
offered Winter Term. For those who are unable to attend the Fall S.E.T.
Workshops, these will be a repeat series on four consecutive Wednesdays
beginning January 13, 1982 through February February 3 from 1:00-3:30 p.m.
S.E.T. participants learn time management strategies, skills for improving
reading retention and recall, test-taking tips and note taking skills among other
concerns generated by the participants.
The Stress Reduction Workshop will run five consecutive Wednesdays from
1:30-3:30 p.m. beginning February 10 through March 10, 1982. Participants will
learn how to identify and cope with feelings of personal stress as they pertain to
being a student, being a meiber of the family or being on the job.
As you consider your pre-registration plans for Winter term, you might want
to keep these dates in mind.
The workshops are free and preregistration is required, so stop by the
Counseling Center (W-117) and preregister early, if you haven't already done so.
GRE test fee waivers are available for students from families with very low
incomes. Eligible students are those who are U.S. citizens, who are currently
enrolled as seniors and are receiving financial aid through a college or university
in the U.S.A. and who have an estimated parental contribution of $2OO or less for
the senior year. Students who feel they may be eligible based on these criteria
should contact Mr. Robert Thomas, Office of Financial Aid, Admissions Office,
Multi-Purpose Building.

Anyone interested in going to see a Rolling Stones concert in December should
stop by the C.C. Reader office (W-129) and sign up. If the office is closed, just slide
a piece of paper under the door with your name and address, indicating your
interest in such a trip. If there are enough responses to warrant a bus trip, I'll
proceed in trying to arrange it. This concert would take place in Washington, D.C.
during Christmas break. Keep this in mind, because the bus would be leaving
from Capitol Campus.
