.C. Reader Letters to the Editor Wumke Is Not Alone Editor Hi there, gang. What's shakin'? How about the leaves on the trees? They sure are beautiful this time of year in south-central Pennsylvania. In fact, I guess they are all over the Common wealth. Oh, yeah. It's WUMKE here at your service once again. (at least) It sure was great to receive a letter from the top men on campus last issue. I appreciate it, Provost Gross. And thank you too, Dean Gross. (Are youse guys brothers or something?) As many of you know by now, I soak up this kind of attention like the boron rods on TMI used to soak up neutrons. It made the little day of this little man a little brighter. The Penn State Night at Thirsty's Tavern a few weeks back was a tre mendous success. My usually reliable sources tell me it was packed all night. Yes, I did make a "brief" appearance. They were Fruit-of-the-Looms, I believe. (Get it? Briefs--Fruit of the Looms?) Just remember that if we Capitolites treat the local beer-tenders right, they'll treat us right. Too bad about Anwar, huh? How uncivilized can a country get is what I'd like to know. Assassinating its own Roberta Bronson, President president--how barbaric! Pretty heady stuff, huh? But that's Steve King, Vice-President My fearless "Win With WUMKE" the way it is, Thursday, October 15, Karen Kurek, Treasurer baseball predictions? I thought you'd 1981. The World Series will be a repeat of the 1974 show, but with opposite results: the Dodgers in seven games. On a more serious level, this letter will mark the first appearance of the writings of Progenitor, a person who was well loved by many, many people at Capitol. So without further ado, a direct quote from Progenitor: "Let us be proud of who we are and who we are not. Together, our strengths and weaknesses can and will be used for the betterment of all. Yea, we shall forge a renewed patriotism and spirit in our country that shall be heard around the world. The sun shall never set on the land that is effected by our efforts. I believe in the United States of America and its people who I proudly serve. Amen. The world has enough great names and great leaders who have satisfied their own passions. Let us not lead, but let us serve. And let us serve faithfully, but in peace. For is it not in giving that we receive, in losing what we cannot keep that we gain that which we will never lose, in listening and comforting that we hear and strengthen, and in serving that we lead?" Mon. - Thurs. 9:00 Fri. - 9:00 a.m. Thursday, October 15, 1981 I would like to remind everyone that they are welcome to attend the SGA meetings--they are open to everyone. However, there is one stipulation. According to the SGA Constitution passed last spring (Article VI, Section 8, Floor Privileges), there, will be a sepa rate section on the agenda for introduc tion of visitors by sponsoring senators or officers if a visitor wishes to speak on an item that is contained on that meeting's agenda. If a visitor would like to be put on the agenda, the visitor must request floor privileges one week prior to the meeting at which the respective visitor is to speak. The request will be granted with two-thirds majority of the Senate. The following week, the visitor will be put on the agenda and introduced to the SGA by a sponsoring officer or senator. It is a good idea to get to know your senators, since they can see to it that you are permitted to speak at the SGA meetings.
