C.C. Reader Opinion
Censored
At the public meeting of
the C.C. Board of Advisors
last Tuesday, we heard only
one thing of importance.
However, it was demanded of
us (three times) that no men
tion of the desired aquisition
of a certain material possessio
be made.
Well, as our good friend
Rosanna Rosanna Danna says,
"Just goes to show ya - it's
always something. If it ain't
one thing, it's another."
And as our other good
friend Lily Tomlin says, "And
that's the truth - so there!"
Just one question, guys --
what would you have done if
there had been several com
munity members present
instead of just three fright
ened young college students
who are trying to be journal
ists?
Take a memo

I don't think I can
let your editorial "How

by without an intelligent

Obituary
We are sorry to report the
untimely emotional deaths of
H. Moyer and M. Kondor,
Editor-in-Chief and Associate
Editor of the C.C. Reader.
Their psyches were found
crumpled in the inner office of
the C.C. Reader, apparently
the victims of an unfortunate
murder-suicide.
The following note was
found near the entities:
This is it! We've had it.
It's 9:14 p.m. Wednesday
evening, and the copy isn't
even typeset yet, because
most of it didn't come in until
yesterday.
Sure, we'll stay up all
night and attempt to finish
this issue, but - NO MORE!
We can't do it alone. We
help. This is ridiculous.
FAREWELL, CRUEL
SCHOOL.
Although the idea of
changing the name "Capitol
Campus' is not a new issue, it
deserves some comment in
view of the recent voting. At
the Board of Advisors meet
ing last Tuesday morning, the
name change issue was the
first item on the agenda.
Because there was , a lack of
agreement on the name for
this place by the students,
faculty and staff, the item was
referred to the Administra
tive Committee for further
discussion.
The recent voting on the
name change was requested
by Dr. Gross because he
wanted to know the campus
community's feelings on the
issue. The voting went as
Follows:

Your concern for our
students' wellbeing was
the best laugh I've had
in a long time. You had a
valid argument but you
exaggerated so much that
everyone is wondering
when I will propose the
new "PEEP SHOW" in
Vendorville.
G.P.P.sponsored that
movie in an attempt to
raise some money for its
small budget. We had no
idea you and other
people would be so up
set and take such an
immature attitude.
I'm not going to
argue morals or porno
graphy laws with you or
anyone else. Should you
feel a need to take such
a strong stand on an
other issue I suggest
you research your state
ments before you print
them.
You have a right to
examine and edit adver
tisements that are offen
sive or of illegal princi
ples but our ad for
"Deep Throat" was not in
violation of any school,
local or state or federal
laws.
I honestly respect your
opinion as you'd better
respect mine, and I don't
mind your attempt to air
your opinion. But a
cheap shot is a cheap
shot and you didn't even
re.are tat ve well.

Since the voting is unfav
orable towards changing the
name "Capitol Campus," the
question arises as to wnat
happens with the image of
this Campus?
The Provost recognizes
the need for creating a Uni
versity presence in Central
Pennsylvania. The idea might
not be entirely his, but it is
interestin : .

G.P.P. Chairman
Editor,
This is in response to your
editorial requesting comment
on the showing and/ or ad
vertising of "Deep Throat" in
particular and pornography in
general at Capitol Campus.
found the GPP project offen
sive and feel it my duty to
respond with the following
satirical parallel:
Six Score and eight years
ago (1852), slavery, the inter
state slave trade, and the
fugitive slave laws were
known as constitutional rights
by the majority in the south.
The majority in the north said
"amen" since slavery was
viewed as an economic neces
sity.
Those fanatics who dis
agreed were recognized as
narrow-minded do-gooders
trying to impose their own
moral ethics on others. A
busybody named Harriet
Beecher Stowe wrote a book
that slandered these property
rights. She claimed if even a
few could abuse it, the whole
system was wrong.
Many were carried away
with this puritanical non
sense. Slave owners' rights

One of the first steps in
creating a University pre

relations and keeping the
public eye on the Campus.
Surely it is essential to asso
ciate the campus with Penn
State.
PSU/ CAPITOL is not
easily identifiable as to loca
tion. However, PSU/
HARRISBURG is. So is PSU/
MIDDLETOWN. Either way,
prospective students would at
least know that the campus
was in Central Pennsylvania.
There are good reasons for
retaining the name Capitol
Campus, such as the cost
involved, and the feeling by
many that a name change is
not necessary. However, it

The opinions expressed in this paper are not necessarily
those of the students, faculty, staff, or administration of the
Penns hauls State Univers'
would be wise in the long run
to overlook short-term veiw
points and decide once and for
all to change the name to
PSU/HARRISBURG now or
forget it. In the long run, it
would be wise to make this
campus as attractive as pos
sible to present and future
students.
If you were the Provost,
what would be your serious
long-term goals for this Cam
pus?
Dr. Gross is not planning
the expansion of this campus
as a "springboard" for his own
personal gain, but to meet the
growing needs of this area for
higher education.
