C.C. Reader State of the campus Yep, it's me again. Last term, I received a great deal of feedback concerning my little "chats" with you. Some of it was constructive, some was not. The majority of the students that I talked with felt that I should continue the practice of letting you know what's going on in your Stu dent Government as well as in the Executive Branch. Ergo... This term, we have some bad news for you. Sam Bookheimer, the - senior Social Science representative, has resigned from his duty as a Senator on the S.G.A. Due to a voluminous amount of work that Sam will have to do this term in order to complete an internship, he felt that it would be better for the stu dent body if he simply resign ed the position and thus al lowed someone the opportu nity 'to take his place. I'm sorry to see Sam leave the group. He is one heck of a worker and he carried his duties with the utmost integ rity. Good luck Sam and thank you for all that you've done!! However, the good news is yet to come. In Sam's place, the Student Government has acquired two (count 'em) new additions. David Kinder and David Austin have joined in to do their part to better this joint. I'm really going to try to keep this short! Last issue of the CC. Reader, I believe -- or should I say hope -- you read that letter from the W.S.D.C. con cerning the proposed name change of Capitol. Well, what they say is partially true. There is a name change in the wind. As for the rest of the allegations, when I asked the Provost about them he stated that he felt they were "inac curate and unfair." Maybe. Concerning the name change, you will notice that in the center section by the round table, a box bearing the Classifieds EARN AT LEAST $6B per month for four hours of your time per week. Dr. Gross says that he wants our vote as to how and what we feel about this matter. Hey, I'm just relating what I heard!!!! Anyway, please make an attempt to fill one out and drop it in the box. There's still no word on the mixer which was stolen. The Student Government voted to put a t.v. in the gallery lounge. We felt that that area should be utilized as a meeting place or central point on this floor since yen dorville is such a dump. Over the past years, the lounge seems to have developed into a library. This is not what the original intent was. Now, that doesn't mean that the t.v. has got to be blaring everyone out, so try it before you react. I'd like to organize a pro-. youof vendorville. How do you feel about it? Would you care to participate in a good old fashioned, sit down and do it protest? We have been talking and. talking and talk ing and talking and talking and nothing seems to be get ting done. The prices are too high and the food isn't that good. If McDonald's can do it, then why can't Penn State???? Let me know by putting a note or something in my mail box, otherwise, I'll just as sume that you don't care, so I won't either. As for the bookstore well there's another joke. You know, I spent ALL last sum mer in this place attending Bookstore Task Force Meet ings. I really believed that something could be done. Well, at Comedy Campus, the joke is on the people who pay to come to school here. NOTHING HAS BEEN You can make at lea $69 per month by donating plasma at Sera Tec. Special programs. are available for people who have had hepatitis Thursday, Jan. 24, 1980 address DONE!!! You're still paying through the nose and the administration of this school is STILL examining the prob lem! Nonsense! I'm no bright eyed kid who just left home. I don't think the administration WANTS to do anything. And as for the manager? Well, I for one know that there is a certain attitude problem there. I experienced it long before I was elected to the S.G.A. and I'm sure a few of you have had your "encoun ters". Michael Benner just told me nmneishtifh nsnirnft. Which in Benner talk, means don't write them a book. So, I'll stop my weekly tirade for now but you will hear from me as well as the rest of the Student Government. Oh, as for "I. M. Fedup crawl back under your rock. I'm Fed up too -- with the type of attitude you display. If you have nothing constructive to add to your boney-finger pointing, put it back in your pocket. When people resort to pointing out problems CON STANTLY with no solutions ever offered, with no ex change of free comment, and with no guts to stand up and be identified as someone who wants to help correct prob lems rather than just point them out, then your com ments and monologues fall on deaf ears.
