Pennsylvania State University at Capitol Campus ■■ Vol. 8 No. 13 Students demand TMI refund The recent closing of Capitol Campus, in response to the emergency at Three Mile Isl and, nas raised several ques tions. On-campus students are asking whether there will be a refund forthcoming covering the period when services were unavailable to them. Students who have part time jobs on campus are con cerned about their loss of earn ings during that week. Those people who had to make unplanned, long distance trips home have expressed the hope that traveling expenses would be reimbursed. Dr. Jerry South, Director of Student Affairs, said “The ad ministration of Capitol Campus is very much aware of students’ interest in housing and food service fees.” In the hope of resolving this difficulty, John Taylor, Finance Officer at Cap itol Campus, attended a meet- by Joan H. Klein ing at University Park on April 11th and 12th. A decision on this matter by senior members of the university administration is anticipated and an announce ment is expected in the immed iate future. The outlook is less hopeful for students who have part time campus employment. Work hours are not guaranteed and employees are called to work as needed. Since no help was needed, students can only hope they will be able to get some work hours on those days designated for “make-up.” Reimbursement of out-of pocket traveling costs will not be made by the University. Dr. South suggested interested students contact American Nu clear Insurers, the company insuring Metropolitan Edison Co..
