Recreation/Athletics Hag Football The deadline for flag football team rosters to be submitted to the Rec/Ath office is Friday, September 23! Team fee is $lO.OO per team. Rosters may be unlimited. Blank team roster sheets are available at the Rec/Ath office. Softball The softball rosters are due Friday, September 23. No team fee will be necessary for this program. This will be a one (1) pitch softball league. Rosters may be unlimited. Games will be scheduled beginning next week. Soccer The soccer team is practic ing every evening beginning at 7:00 P.M. on the lighted athletic field. During inclement weath er practice will be held in the old base gym. If you are interested in becoming a part of this team you can still do so. Just report to the field for practice and submit your name to the coach, Mr. Ed Trunk. Varsity Basketball (men) The first varsity basketball meeting will be held on Monday, October 3, at 3:30 P.M., in the new gymnasium located on the lower level on the new Multi-Purpose Bldg. All persons interested in trying out for this sport are urged to attend. Pre-season practices will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 5:30 P.M. on the following dates: Wed. Oct. 5; Fri. Oct. 7; Mon Oct. 10: Wed. Oct. 12; and Fri. Oct. 14. Delta Tau Kappa, the Social Science Society on Campus, will hold an organizational meeting on Monday, Sept. 26 at 3:00 p.m. in Room W-209.. It is also designed to devise methods of analyzing and budgeting time, and shows the secretary how to initiate time managing technique. The meeting, which will be held in W-129, is open to all students interested in any of the numerous phases of yearbook planning, production, and sales. Photographers and business managers are particu larly needed immediately in order to start production. Also, the 1977 yearbook is on schedule and will be on sale shortly. Welker will be on exhibit in the Gallery Lounge at Capitol Campus through Oct. 7, according to Roberta McLeod, Student Activities Director. A resident of Middletown, Ms. Welker attended Kutztown State College and is currently an art major at York Academy. Since 1972 her paintings have been shown at the Harrisburg Arts Festival, the South- Central Penna. Instructors Show, Mt. Gretna Chatauqua, Allenberry Playhouse, and the 15th Annual Boardwalk Show in Ocean City, N.J. Ms. Welker's paintings on display 'include examples of acrylics, oils, pastels, and watercolors. Think twice. Capitol Campus will be sponsoring a six-week course entitled "Knowing and Collect ing American Art" on Mondays from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. beginning Sept. 26. Dr. Irwin Richman, well known professor, author, and former museum professional, will be the instructor. The course is designed for the interested beginner. Among the topics to be covered will be American paintings and sculpture, academic and folk art, what the connoisseur looks for, how to identify works of art, and an art bibliography.
