The fraternity's softball
team is off to a good start this
past week, racking up three
decisive wins over in-league
teams. Our team is looking
forward to playing teams in the
American League to squash the
rumors that we can't handle the
competition in the American
League. In less than two weeks
our softball team will be going
up to University Park to
represent our school in a
state-wide sponsored fraternity
softball tournament. The last
two years our team has done
quite well, taking first place
two years ago and 9th place last
year. There is a total of 25
teams entered in the tourna
ment and the two days of
softball is lots of fun for
everyone involved. Although I
might be a little biased, I
feel this year's squad is the best

Bud Smitley, Recreation/
Athletics Coordinator at
Capitol, ran in the 81st Annual
Boston Marathon this past
Monday, April 18, and com
pleted the 26 miles 385 yards in
3 hours and 31 minutes. This
was Smitley's first Boston

underestimated the difficulty of
this tough course that begins at
Hopkinton, Mass. and ends at
the Prudential Center in
downtown Boston. He ran the
first half of the marathon with a
respectable time of 1 hour and
33 minutes, but ran into
dehydration problems during
the second half which took
