Even though it will be some time before you can accurately gauge the value of your experiences at Capitol, I imagine you are aware that you have changed since coming here. The college years are a time of value clarification and idea formation as well as academic learning. As we’ve shared the last two years, I’ve seen you moving through these processes. I think the Campus environment has stimulated much of this. Hopefully, you’ve found the Experience here both challenging and stimulating. Graduation also provides an opportunity to look into the future. As you do so, the true value of your education should become more apparent. By this I mean that you should become more aware that you are just beginning the task of learning. Our world is rapidly changing, and your ability to influence the future depends, to a large measure, on your willingness to learn from your experiences. Although there will be many different experiences in your life, I would urge that you be particularly sensitive to your relationships with other people. Ours is a society where all people are interdependent. By being sensitive to the impact you have on others and to the impact of others on you, your life will be much more rewarding. There is no question, in my mind, that the most important contribution anyone can make is to be involved in and feel a responsibility for the development of other poeple. Just as you’ve done well here at Capitol I know you will have a successful future. Hail to the Graduates! A Message from Mr. Dressier As you travel the highways of this great country of ours, you will, on occasion, see a sign advising you to “Keep Right.” Expanded a little, this is what all of us should do.s Keep right thoughts! This isn’t easy. There will be many temptations to twist those right thoughts you have learned at home and in school. Hopefully, you will be able to sort out End make Suitable judgments about those that are right. Keep right words! This isn’t easy either. But it should be a natural adjunct to keeping right thoughts. Translate those thoughts into clear and concise words that best express those thoughts, considering their time and place. Keep right deeds! By your deeds others will learn more about you than by all your thoughts and words. Your deeds will set an example for others to see, for others to follow. Keep right~and do some thing with your life! Dedicate your efforts to those things that are right, for such dedication brings a satisfaction unequalled any where. Keep right! “Pray to God that you may do right.” Farewell! George Dressier Administrative Officer J. South Director of Studmft Affaire PEge 7
