My eyes are searching the blueness of the sky,
My mind wanders as wisps of clouds drift by.
I lie here in the softness, the greeness of the earth,
I think in all this greatness, of God -- what is mysoul worth?
What have I ever done to deserve another life?
Have I done just one thing to end this worlds strife?
I know I would change things, if I only could,
I'd give this life and another, if I thought it good.
To see this world at peace and all its people free,
But what can I do -- I'm only one -- I'm only me.
I can keep trying with kindness as my guide,
And show all the people the love that is inside.
And pray that God can help me and I know he Will,
To keep on loving everyone -- until all hate is still.
To live one's life for others -- is peace without end,
To give one's life to God -- and to call every man friend
TO ANN AND COMPANY
Will the river of life ever run true?
No, not ever -- not even for you.
You wish for ease -- but it is never so
For Karma will follow whereever you go.
For so you seek -- so you shall find,
And unto you -- the loving and kind
Will bring you beauty and also correction
Listen and learn and so reach perfection.

Nixon's Secret
Peace Plan
Of 1968
(CPS) -- Richard Nixon DID
have a secret peace plan in 1968.
During the presidential
campaign, Nixon told Richard
Whalen, one of his
speechwriters: "I've come to the
conclusion that there's no way
to win the war. But we can't say
that, of course. In fact, we have
to seem to say the opposite, just
to keep some degree of
bargaining leverage."
(The quote appears in a new
book by Whalen, "Catch the
Falling Flag". Thanx to the
Great Speckled Bird.)
Flag On Seat OK,
But Check Your
Local Judge . . .
(CPS) -- U.S. District Judge
Levin Cambell of Boston ruled
recently that it is not a crime to
wear a U.S. flag sewn on the seat
of your pants.
Judge Cambell said that there
is such a widespread use of the
flag on cars, jackets, sweaters,
coats and elsewhere that it could
not be considered a crime to
wear it on pants.
Cambell's ruling does not have
the force of law outside of his
judicial district, but at least it
provides a legal precedent for at
dismissing similar cases around
the country.

Stereo systems in the $4OO price range while not unpleasant
to listen to, have not as a rule provided that last bit of musical
accuracy for those who take their listening very seriously. Our
$409 ADVENT/SANSUI/BSR/SHURE stereo system has
changed all that, as many of our critical and satisfied
customers who own it will testify.
The Smaller Advent loudspeakers are a startling speaker
bargain, of which highly respected Stereo Review Magazine
said, "Any preconceived ideas you may have about the
limitations of sub-compact speaker systems will, we think, be
shattered." The Sansui 350 A AM/FM stereo receiver provides
sufficient power (over 44 RMS watts of it) to handle the most
tortuous musical passages in the average living room, and its
sensitive tuner will capture your favorite radio stations with
clarity. The BSR/510X automatic turntable with a Shure
M7SC cartridge and diamond stylus will treat your records
gently and add no unpleasant sounds of its own.
Together these remarkable components cost just $409 a
saving of $31.35 over their usual individual prices. If you've
thought that a stereo system in this price range couldn't
provide quite enough sonic satisfaction, we invite you to visit
