Dr. George D. Wolf, Division Head, today announced the appointment of Richard I. Amnion, Jr. as Instructor in Humanities and Education; Michael L. Barton, Instructor in Social Science; and Lemuel David Molovinkly, Instructor in American Studies. Ammon holds a bachelor of science degree in Elementary Education from Penn State and a master of education degree from Temple University. He has taught in the Newtown, Lock Haven and Camdem, Delaware, school systems and also served as assistant professor of Education at Jersey City State College. A candidate for a doctorate in education at Penn State, Ammon is a member of Kappa Phi Kappa, honorary education fraternity; Phi Mu Alpha, honorary music fraternity; and Blue Key and Parmi Nous, men's honorary societies. A native of Nebraska, Barton joins Penn State's faculty after having spent two years conducting research under a United States Public Health Service grant. He graduated in 1965 from the University of Nebraska with a bachelor of science degree and holds master's degrees from the University of Nebraska and the University of Pennsylvania. Currently a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Pennsylvania, Barton is a member of the American Studies Association, the Organization of American Historians and the American Anthropological Association. He is married to the former Jane Warnsholz who is a first year medical student at the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Molovinsky comes to the Middletown campus after having served five years as a graduate assistant at Temple University. He has a bachelor of science and master of arts degree in history from Temple. He is a member of the education committee of The Partners of the Americas, Penna. The Recreation/Athletics Building is presently open from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Monday thru Friday. Equipment may be checked out during these hours for a period of two (2) days, except when noted differently. Due to the demand for various equipment and because of tardiness in returning equipment, Recreation/Athletics has instituted a new policy of fining inconsiderate persons obtaining equipment. Fines will be 10 cents per day, per item, but will not exceed 25 cents per day charge. The program will begin on Monday, September 25, in the Recreation/Athletics Building at 8:00 p.m. The program will be open to novices and beginners. Depending on individual interest, there will be opportunities for competition. Instruction nights will be Monday and Thursday evenings from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. The cost for the program is $lO.OO per person, and this fee is not refundable. Judo ghias may be checked out nightly by registered persons with valid student ID cards. Locker room facilities with showers are available. The Fall term course will end December 7. For further information call 787-7751. Learn To Defend Yourself From Attack!!! Persons of the Capitol Campus community will have the opportunity to participate in the art of self-defense. The program will begin on Monday, September 25, and will end December 7. Instruction will be for one (1) hour on Monday and Thursday evenings from 7:00 to 8 :00 p . m . ( immediately preceding judo instruction). The cost for the program is $5.00 per person, and thisfee is non-refundable. Participants should wear "old" clothes for this activity.
