ROUNDBALLERS WIN
On February 15th, Capitol's
basketball team returned home
to the Main Street Gym to
defeat the Delaware Campus of
Penn State.
The Lions led from the start,
using:heir height advantage to
win handily by the score of 88
to 78. Capitol jumped out to a
10 point lead after five minutes
passed in the opening period but
Delaware trailed by only 41-36
at the half. The section of the
scoreboard which registered
Capitol's scoring would not
work but it was repaired during
half-time.
Delaware stayed close to the
Lions during most of the second
frame but Capitol opened up a
12 point lead with only five
minutes remaining. Capitol then
held on to win by 10.
Paul Hook was Capitol's
leading scorer with 29 points
and topped all rebounders by
grabbing 17 boards. Rick Miller,
a sharpshooting guard had 21
markers while Steve Hutter had
17 points and 11 rebounds. The
victory gives the Lions three
wins against 11 losses. The game
on Feb. 19th against the
Susquehanna University Frosh
was postponed due to bad travel
conditions. Capitol's last home
game of the season is tomorrow
night, with game time at 8 p.m.
The opponent is Stevens Trade
School from Lancaster.
Lebanon Wins
by Charlie Carlin
On February Bth, Capitol
traveled to Annville to play the
Lebanon Valley Frosh. Lebanon,
with an average height advantage
of four inches a man, ran away
with the game from the start.
They held a huge half-time
advantage. In the second half,
the Capitol 's' showed great ball
movement and came within
striking distance. But the home
team pulled out again and won
going away.
Paul Hook, Capitol's
consistent high scorer, paced the
team with 17 points. Big Larry
Chupka led the team in
rebounds. This Tuesday night,
the Lions return to the Main
Street Gym from their long road
trip to play the Delaware
Campus of Penn State. Game
time is 8:00 p.m. As an added
attraction, the Capitol Campus
Foul Shooting Championship
will be held at half-time.
