The Good Old Days Will Return
There are a hell of a lot of
social activities coming up in the
next week or so. If everyone
would attend at least a few of
the activities they will all be
successful. Many of the activities
will require some imagination on
your part. Give yourself a
chance to have some good times;
get involved in these activities!
Stop complaining about
activities here, if any social event,
is not “fun” it is the fault of the
individual many times and not
always due to the committee or
organization that has made the
arrangements.
On THURSDAY, JANUARY
20, two movies will be presented
at “The New Birth”. “Blood and
Sand” and “A Bowl of Cherries”
will be seen starting at 9 p.m.
Admission, as always, at “The
New Birth” is Free.
FRIDAY, JANUARY 21, will
bring us a basketball game
between Spring Garden and our

Street Gym. A post-game dance
will follow at the Student
Center. The dance will feature
“Eden”, a group which appeared
here last term. They feature
excellent Allman Brothers
sounds. Definitely a great show!
The dance is sponsored by the
Rec-Ath Ass’n. Admission is $1
or $.75 with an activity card.
On SATURDAY, JANUARY
22, our basketball team will
challenge Shenandoah College at
home (Main Street Gym)
starting at 8 p.m.
MONDAY, JANUARY 24,
will feature, as a prelude to Old
Times Week, a Charlie Chaplin
flick in the auditorium starting
at 8 pan. The flick is called
“Gold Rush” and is regarded by
many to be Chaplin’s best.
Admission is Free.

TUESDAY, JANUARY 25,
will bring the beginning of OLD
TIMES WEEK, a week dedicated
to the nostalgia of the last fifty
years. A Marathon Dance will
kick off the week at 9 p.m. in
Venderville. Each club or
organization wjll enter
participating couples and prizes
will be awarded to clubs. People
who are not associated with a
club or organization may sign up
in the Student Activities Office
(W-105). Participants must enter
no later than 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
There is no charge for entering
or watching the contest. $25 will
be awarded to the couple that
can dance the longest with only
a 5 minute break each hour, $l5
will be awarded to the
organization with the most
participants, $lO will be received
by the best dancers, and $5 will
be awarded for the best
costume. There will also be a
B-Ball game at the Main Street

On WEDNESDAY,
JANUARY 26, in the
auditorium our illustrious
faculty and staff will present a
show illustrating a few incidents
out of the past. The show will
begin at 8 p.m. Following their
little exhibition, Tom Ogden will
present an event entitled “An
Old Time Medicine Show”.
Admission is Free!
THURSDAY, JANUARY 27,
will bring “A 1950 Night at the
Drug Store” to the Student
Center. “The Drug Store” with
its’ soda fountain and old time
nickel juke box will open at 8
p.m. Admission is free, the only
charge will be for things to eat
and drink at 1950 prices. At 9
pan. at “The New Birth”
“Nanook if the North” will be
presented. Admission is Free!

Thursday, January 20,1972
FRIDAY, JANUARY 28, will
bring the return of Flash Gordon
to the Student Center. “Flash
Gordon’s Trip to Mars” will
occur via film. Admission is $.75
or $.35 with an activity card.
The series will start at 9 p.m.
and will run about 5 hours.
On SATURDAY, JANUARY
29, Jazz will return again to our
Student Center in the form of
the “Patti Wicks Trio”.
Admission is small, $.50 or $.25
with your activity card. The
concert begins at 8 p.m.
TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 1,
will bring THE RIO CLEMENTE
TRIO to Capitol Campus. At 2
pan. a mini-concert will be
presented in the Gallery-Lounge.
Then, at 8 pun., a full concert
will be presented in the
auditorium. This is a dynamite
group which has appeared in
many major nightclubs and at
college campuses across the
country.
