Captains’ Meeting

P.M. in the Rec/Aths Building.
Captains (or a team
representative) will meet to
determine type of tournament,
play dates, times and vote on
Championship tournament.
Mandatory for each team to
have a representative present.

Officials will,select hours for
employment. YOU MUST
ATTIiND!!
Rules, interpretations and
questions will be discussed. Any
rule changes will be voted upon
at the meeting by captains (or
representative) and officials.
Assistants Needed
The varsity basketball squad
needs an additional
rccrcation/athletics aide to help
with the duties of the squad.
Duties: Statistics, equipment,
liming, taping, assigned duties.
Benefits: $1.60 per hour of
work. Free travel to all games.
Free meals with the team.

PCPA PICKS NO. 1
PITTSBURGH-- Penn State
dominated the second annual
PCPA All-State Football Team
picked by the state’s collegiate
sports editors in a poll
conducted by the Pennsylvania
Collegiate Press Association.
All-American halfback Lydell
Mitchell was selected
Player-of-the-Year and coach Joe
Paterno was selected
Coach-of-the-Year to give the
Nittany Lions a sweep of these
honors.
Penn State had six players on
the offensive unit and four on
the defensive unit. Villanova and
Temple each played three
players on the team and
Edinboro State had two players
on the team.

schedule is out for the Winter
’72 Intramurals. Get together

activities starting January 11.

Villanova end Mike Siani and
Mitchell were the only two
repeaters on the team.
SSani caught 49 passes for 960
yards and 14 touchdowns.
Mitchell, whose 148.4 yards per
game rushing average ranked him
among the national leaders,
scored 29 TDs to set an NCAA
record.
Equipment
Check-out
Equipment may be checked
out by any student, faculty or
staff member for a two day loan
period. The person’s signature
and University ID card is
required. ID cards will not be
returned until equipment is
returned or fees paid for
replacement. Lost or broken
equipment must be purchased.
Any fees will not exceed the
delivery and purchase price for
new equipment. Receipts must
be received when charges are
paid at the Recreation/Athletics
Building between the hours of
8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday,
Thursday and Friday.
Rec/Athletic
Council
Any students interested in
becoming new members of the
Recreation/Athletic Council,
please apply at the
Recreation/Athletic Building.
Applicants will be selected by
the present members of the
Recreation/Athletic Council to
Fill posts vacated by non-active
members.
The purpose of this group will
be to help determine the present
and future direction of the
Capitol Campus Recreation,
Athletic and Intramural
Programs. It is open to any
student, male or female, that is
interested in working for a
better Capitol Campus program.
