Page 4 LAST WEEK IN THE EEL Last week, the Studs Blue beat the M&Nfs 6-0 with Cryder scoring the lone six points for the Studs. The once-beaten XGIY defeated another top team, A.M.F., by the score of 19-6. In that game Steve Keggy scored once and Cal Yohe two times to lead the attack. Elward had a solo for A.M.F. The mightly Zappers had their toughest week of the season losing three games in two days. On Wednesday the Zappers put up a good showing against the undefeated Trojans, losing 30-19. Mergenthel and Fazzie had two TD’s and Hooke scored one for the Trojans. Stan Kobylanski, who scored five Zapper touchdowns last week, had the three Zapper scores in the game. The Trojans, doing what a great team should do, capitalized on three interceptions and turned them into scores. Following that great effort, the Zappers had to play the Hairy Hogs. The tired Zappers were shaved by the Hogs 26-13. Carlin scored once and Stephens three times for the Hogs. Mike Sammin and Stan Kobylanski scored for the zapped Zappers. Denny Hall, who had a first quarter collision with Scott McKinney, had one score. Scott was taken to the hospital where 13 stitches were required to close the wound. Hope you’re back in action soon, Scott. Vogelsong, Zalewski, and Hafer also had Studs TD’s. DeCook had the lone Green Knight tally. Last Thursday, the XGFs were able to contain a potent offense by Them and won the game 25-18. And the Gornicks upset a very tired and inept Zapper team 13-12. Bailey and Lopez scored for the winners with Wilson scoring the extra and deciding point. Stan Kobylanski and Mike Sammin, who ran back an interception 50 yards, scored for the Zappers. Three big games are coming up next week. On Sunday at 2 o’clock, the undefeated Trojans try to stretch their streak against the Green Knights. At 4:30 on Monday, the XGl’s play the Green Knights and at 4:30 on Tuesday, the Trojans are back in action against A.M.F. Once again it is my job to explain, in some kind of detail, the social events for this week, but first I would like to ask two questions: 1) Is it really necessary for a few people to rip off all of the other people on campus by sneaking into events when others have to pay? 2) Why do some people on campus bitch and moan about activities when they aren’t involved with anything here except going to a class now and then? Well, there are the questions, you supply the answers, and here are the activities this week for the people who do care!
